For example, Harvard is known as the law school and Yale is known as the medical school. What about Princeton? Any recommendations on what university I should attend if I wish to become a writer?

Princeton has a distinguished record in science. It was one of three sites in the U.S. that worked on controlled nuclear fusion (NOT cold fusion) in a significant way, and it was, of course, Einstein's university after he left Germany.
Generalizations are not a good guide, incidentally. Pick the three persons you most admire in your field of interest and look up where they work. That will be a better (and probably cheaper) way to choose your school.

Physics is a strong point with Princeton.
Here is something from thier web site.

Princeton Physics for the Prospective Undergraduate.
Physics continues to be one of Princeton's greatest strengths. We have a faculty with diverse interests, ranging from string theory and cosmology to condensed matter and biophysics. Our undergraduate program is distinguished by a commitment to teaching at all levels and by our program of junior and senior independent work.

Einstein was a faculty member at the Institute For Advanced Study located in the city of Princeton,NJ.
There is an informal link to the Institute and Princeton.

If writing is your choice of working, then Princeton would be a fine choice for a school.

Princeton actually does have an excellent creative writing minor, but most prestigious schools have at least decent English programs with workshop opportunities. Take a look at some course catalogs and see what classes appeal to you most.
