I want to study Anthropology, specifically Physical, but I'm not sure which school would be better for that. I'm also feeling a strong pull towards socio-cultural. SO could someone help me out in this area?

I'm only in hesitation over Berkeley due to the school no longer having Phy. anth. as a major/minor/class. And while Manoa may not have the 'je ne sais quois' of Berkeley it is connected to other Pacific countries and the whole Pacific rim culture ring whoch would eb useful to me. However, as stated Berkeley has more credibility, from what I hear on the web a very good anthro program (like everything it offers) except that what I want to focus my studies on has been cut from the curriculm. I think that is a more accurate description of my delima.

The University of California at Berkeley is considered one of the best universities in the world. The University of Hawaii's main draw is that it is in Hawaii. There is no comparison between the two. Anyone choosing UH over Berkeley is a fool.

Berkeley - just the name itself will give you much more credit - also the Northern California area is great - while it may not be Hawaii it is still quite enjoyable especially ifyou want to do real studying.
In addition, Berkeley will gie you more of the college experience.

I am from Hawaii so of course I am going to say UH Manoa. Education there is really awesome a friendly environment and in your spare time you can go to the beach and check out the sceneries. Good luck on your choice

I would go to Berkeley in a heartbeat. Its one of the best schools out there, why pass that up.
