Besides- bed, computer, printer, microwave, fridge, desk or something equally obvious.
I'm compiling a list of stuff I need for college and would like some input. What surprised you? What did you wish you had? What was a waste of money and/or space?

Colleges have lists for students and the lists are fairly reasonable. My sons said they really appreciated having enough toiletries so that what little money they had didn't have to be spent on them. (I sent enough toothpaste, razors, shave cream, acne stuff, shampoo, etc. for an entire semester with a couple to trade with dormmates who ran out). Paperplates and plastic flatware are necessary and not on the colleges lists. Under the bed bins were great for storing stufff.

What would I most like to have PRIVACY. I hated sharing a room.

If you will be staying at a dorm or somewhere with shared showers, the most important things are flip flops (to avoid any unwanted foot fungi) and a shower caddy (to easily carry all your shower supplies).
Hope that helps and good luck in your studies!

Be sure you purchase a MLA style of writing grammar book- your bookstore should carry these- it will help you in writing papers that you will do not just for english class.
