depends on the employeer. most school districts DO NOT accept teaching degrees from Phoenix on-line. there is no campus or college as such.

you need to check and see which university accreditation your employeer accepts before putting out all that $$$$ to any institution.

try nova southeastern university in FL. it is a real university w/buildings and thousands of on-campus students. it is an accredited institution and offers many on-line degrees.

University Of Phoenix (UOP) is very real!!.Whether you get your degree from UOP or at someother schools should be based on your needs. UOP is better suited for people who are already employed. I live in Phoenix, I attended their ground campus(not online). Of the 15 professors I had only 3 were not so good. I had some exceptional professors with lot of real world experience, and team members with whom I was able to discuss business scenario's based on their work experience.

Drawbacks of UOP could be 1) They let anyone who's willing to pay to join, so you may be paired with idiots in a learning team. 2) If you take online classes, I don't know how much personal attention you'll get..

University of Phoenix is an accredited (real) university and you could get a job with whatever degree you got from them. However, since it is a private university, the credits would probably not transfer anywhere else.

I would think you'd be better off with a real university, but they must be getting money from somewhere since they had enough to buy the naming rights to the Arizona Cardinals new stadium.

Hi Buck, well it is a real university since it's accredited but it really has mixed opinions. It is also one of the most expensive online colleges out there and I strongly advise you to look out for other options.

A real waste of time & money.
many employers will not accept online degrees, you are much better off doing it through a local university. Often times local universities don't even distinguish on your transcript if your degree was earned online or traditional.
go with a local, you will be better off!

It's real alright, real expensive. You might as well spend the money on and attend a University.

I would just take online classes at a regular university. Look at it this way: if you have to ask if the school is real/credible, the employer definitely will have second thoughts.

Reading the comments of students enrolled in UOP should answer your question. It is alarming to see students, who are supposedly enrolled in
college level courses, write with the skill of an average third grader. UOP offers a degree, but not an education.
