hey people, I'm going to be a senior in high skool and my junior year sucked. I will definitely do way better this year, but still.....

my SAT score is ok 1560 (M600 R460 W500) and I did jv wrestling freshman year and this year I'll do philosiphy club, art club, and rugby.

I also have ALOT of talents:

*I can play violin, viola, cello, base, both types of guitars, piano, drums, and xylophone

*I speak english(duh), german, some french, spanish, japanese, and bengali

* I can draw really really well.

with this can I get into a decent college hopefully with the majors: mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, or police science?

I've looked at arizona state, oregon state, and auburn university so far.

u think I have a chance?

Yes. You are multi-talented! I highly recommend you look into getting a music scholarship at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ. It is a small college, in a beautiful mountain setting, and has both a university and symphony orchestra. I attended college there on a music scholarship and loved it! It was one of the best times in my life.

You may be eligible for music scholarships at other universities as well. Your definitely on the right track. Keep up the good work and you will be successful in college and life.

Best wishes.

You can still retake your SATs. October is your last chance, actually. Usually applications are due around october or november. So you still have time. Try to get at least higher than 1560, try for a 1800 or something. Also take a few SAT II or try the ACT, those might turn out better and supllement your score. I'm pretty sure there is a German SAT II.

edit: to micheal, yes, SATs have changed. They now have a writing section so the test is out of 2400.

Sadly, senior grades don't count much. For 1st semester, they see it in your midyear report, but 2nd semester, it's just about maintaining. Just don't fail anything.

Sophmore and Junior years are the critical years. If your grades and SATs aren't up to par, it's your Personal Essay that needs to be extraordinary. Sure you can play those instuments and speak those language, but the common App doesn't ask you those questions.

Right now, you can download the Common App, which is the application for most colleges, and the supplements for your colleges and see wether or not you can decently fill out the form.

Worst come to worst, there is still community colleges, and some are quite good. And if your plan to tranfer, Community college people get 1st priority. And you get to start over with a clean slate!

Lastly, believe in yourself! You can do anything you aim for!

As a recent graduate from college (i graduate one of the college from the three schools that you looked at), you definitely have chance

SAT score looks alright but your reading should be at least 500. This matters because you will do an entrance test where they put you into which english level you are in. If you are stuck with ENGL 100, you have to do ENGL 100, 101 and 102 instead of just doing 101 and 102. So keep working on those.

HONESTLY, activities and talents don't matter that much with state college. Besides, you have to win awards from competition or be an office in a club really matters to them in private colleges or ivy leagues. So just concentrate pulling that SAT score and your GPA

Oh and many state schools have put HIGHER expectaiton for engineer major snow (they have to be above average scorers than other majors) SO first year in college would be basically same for all of you, you should come in as UNDECIDED and fix your major right after first semester. This is what I think from my past experience.

GOod luck with school and all! NEver give up! :-)

The fact that you do so much and speak alot of languages would make you very appealing to colleges. Your SAT reading score is a little low tho so you may want to retake it but it all depends on what the universities look for. I think you have a great chance to get into a great school but I don't know about your GPA so I can't say for sure.

Are you kidding? 1560? The freaking max is 1600 (unless they've changed it). I scored a 1310. You're really just joking.

Dude, if you write a good entrance essay and have a 2.5 to 3.0 GPA combined with your SAT of 1560 you should be in, no problem.

Yes, don't think about whether you'll get in or not, go ahead and apply to as many universities or programs you can and see which one or ones pick you up. I'm sure you'll do fine, just make sure you get all your info and application stuff in time and better if you get it within early registration. Shows you are really interested and committed.

If you have that many talents then you would be foolish not to go to college.
However, to do well in "skool" "u" "r" going to have to start spelling well.
* Side note - there are more than two types of guitars.
