I am a sophomore. I was a student from a UC Davis, but I am currently attending a community college. Since I don't like UC Davis, I want to transfer to another UC next year. Which transcript are they going to look at? Should I transfer to another UC as a community college student or as a UC Davis student? Do I need to do volunteer work? If I want to apply to UCLA, what's the minimum GPA I need to have? Will they accept seniors as transfers?

I have asked my counselors, but they could not answer my questions. Help!!!

This might sound totally crazy, but, I'm at uni & I have important exams in a couple weeks which I am quite stressed about. I'm a naturally very anxious person and it's not neccessarily the exam itself that makes me anxious its the settings, a big hall full of people sitting in silence I worry about nearly anything you can think of that most people don't seem to care about... anyway question is, would it really be so bad if I had a drink before to calm the nerves? obviously I wouldn't get drunk! just enough to feel a little bit relaxed... or if that isn't a good idea, can you reccomend something else? lol

Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows info in the top 25 school in the country, and I am a sophmore. I want to Persue Medicine and want to go to Medical School. What is required to get accepted. Currently, my GPA is around 4.2, and I am/will be taking AP Courses. Also, I was wondering about getting accepted into University of Chicago or Northwestern University. I've taken courses like Honor Chem, and Honor Physics along with Honors/AP English and AP social studies classes. I've also participated in activies/sports such as tennis, and have volunteered at the local hospital.

I am an Adolescent American Sign Language/ Special Education major. In other words, when I graduate I can become an American Sign Language teacher, like teaching American Sign Language as a foreign language in a high school.

I'm in high school. Looking for a career involving the sciences in which I could help the world, the people in it, ANIMALS, the environment, I want to DO something, hands on. I'm likely to get at least a Master's Degree in college. I've thought of being a vet, sounds kind of repetitive and sad putting down animals. A doctor >> you have to go to college so long and work so much you wouldn't have much of a life outside. Looking for something that is worthwhile and great employment. Any ideas??? Thanks!

I am looking for a law school that lets you take credits at like 6 or 8 a semseter. I already have a phd in Engineering and work full time as a research scientist. However, to reach senior scientist status, you are required to complete a JD. I am willing to do this, but I have a young family (wife, an 18 month old, and another one on the way). If I could do the classes at half the rate of part time, it would be ideal so I could still spend time with my family. Any suggestions? (maybe wait until my kids are teenagers, but thats 15 years or more!)

Why would a college reject a student because of bad GPA or any other reason? The college will get their money and a student--so why are they worried about stuff like GPA?

so heres the situation: im 25, I was a late bloomer after HS and dilly-dallied around a jc for a few years after HS and then I went to Univ. of Calif. San Diego for my b.s. in biochemistry. Graduated *** laude. Took the MCATs and got 14 in physical sciences and biological sciences, and a 15 in verbal. I scored a Q on the writing. The thing is, at UCSD, I only have a cumulative 3.7. And it took me a while to get in the academic ballgame. is that going to hurt me? They all told me that what I did at the JC isnt going to hurt me, but Im not so sure. I wonder if I should even bother applying to places like Yale, Harvard, or Johns Hopkins? Plus, I didnt do much in research. I did work in the lab, but someone once told me that Johns Hopkins is only for great people that have published works. So scared. What are my chances at Yale, etc? What else do I need for med school at yale?

I recently was accepted for transfer into the UCLA department of design media arts, as well as a pre-major in the Interdisciplinary Computing & The Arts Major at UCSD and I wanted to get people's opinions on which might be a better program. Im a little on the fence here, but at this point I see myself going to UCLA, for a variety of reasons, but mainly because of the location(in terms of getting a job, I hate westwood), and also because Im already in the program there, unlike at UCSD where theres still a chance I might not get into the major.
Any thoughts? Anyone? has anyone graduated from either program that could shed some insight?

Ok my question is, will I make it into Berkeley?
I got 2.1s for the first and second semester of freshmen year

2.8 and 3.6 sophomore year

4.67 and 4.67 junior year

4 in ap chem.

5s in environmental science and US history

600 hours of community service

2100 sat score.

I wish I didn't **** up my freshmen year. It saddens me because my freshmen year grade is the cause of all this worry. Ever since then, I tried to redeem myself and it doesn’t seem to be enough. I feel like a waste of talent because I could have easily gotten 4.0s in those classes…… Nevertheless, is it possible for me to get into Berkeley or Davis?

Shouldn't the purpose be education, I think college is a scam for students to fall into, true intellects are usually the ones who drop out
