I'm nearing the completion of my associates degree and played with the idea of quitting my profession for 2 years to get my BA/BS by attending college full time.

I do not have a family to support and I own a home I thought I could sell and use the gain to pay for college as well as get a part-time job to support other misc needs. I feel I can do this with relitive ease and it would be rewarding.

My question is not whether to do this or not - but rather - has anyone else out there done this? What was it like and did you regret it later?

I am a junior Political Science major with only a 3.2 GPA at a top 50 liberal arts school. I haven't taken the GRE yet.

I am really interested in studying political theory. I don't really have a career path in mind, I just really like the subject matter.

I don't think that I could get into a top 20 school at this point (unless I get several incredible internships). Should I go to graduate school? What schools would be a good match?

This is kind of a new idea for me. I never thought that I would want to go to graduate school before this year.

I failed my calc class this semester and it lowered my gpa to below a 2.5 I'm retaking it again this summer so it will be removed before I return to campus for the fall. Will I be allowed to pledge since I'm retaking the class? I don't want to go through everything and find out this isn't allowed.

I'm an adult student (28) who returned to college @ 24 to complete my bachelor's degree & change careers. I will graduate this summer with a dbl.-major B. of Science, & have been accepted to grad school in the fall. I already have an associate degree and have worked in my field (IT) for 8 years. I have supported myself the entire time I've been in school, sometimes going to school FT and working 2 jobs. My mother also passed away my first semester, so the semester after that I got straight Cs. My overall GPA will only be a 3.0 but my major GPA will be a 3.37. I've struggled a lot & haven't always gotten the best grades due to my time constraints and depression after my mother died. (She was very sick for years and we were close.)
With my combined education and work experience, plus an explanation of what caused my lower GPA, do you think it will matter to employers? Should I list both my major and my overall GPA on my resume or just my major GPA?

I hope to do better in grad school!

All of my friends memorised the below speech from Shakespeare & tell when gossip. I hear & stand speechless due to my illetaracy. Please explain the soliloquy in plain english:
"To be or not to be, that is the question—
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing, end them. To die, to sleep—
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to — 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep—
o that I can understand the meaning:~~

I'm planning on getting an MBA (dual with another degree). I wouldn't mind going to the top schools if they were cheaper, but I'll do it if I absolutely have to. For those who went to lower ranked schools, how do you feel now? Were you satisfied with your starting salary? Any regrets?

I was wondering if I really, really need to go to Under Grad School to get accepted into a Grad School? I read somewhere that if you're especially smart (or something along those lines), then maybe you don't need to go? I was hoping I wouldn't have to do four years of normal college to get into my dream school, JFK School of Govmnt. But I learned you supposedly need to go to undergrad to go to a school like JFK...

I know many people who have written essays or gotten especially good grades and got full scholarships into what I thought were Grad schools, but I'm thinking they were just Under Grad... I'm a sophomore who's freaking out about college (I JUST today found out about GRAD and UNDERGRAD, so maybe that helps), so any advice you all can offer would be great!

I have my Bachelor's and Master's degree from the University of Toronto and my goal is to go to law school, but my GPA isn't very high (3.0). Would it benefit me if I went to college and did a two-year paralegal (law clerk) degree and became a paralegal for a couple of years before applying to law school?
