Agreed. both are great schools. However, Notre Dame is a Catholic school and pretty conservative compared to Ann Arbor.

you should try to visit them both to see which one will fit better with you - They are both great - so make sure that you feel comfortable at the school you choose. Don't worry about rankings or anything. if you are unhappy, you will not do as well academically or socially!

I'm going ot have to go for UM. My mom's family lives in Michigan, so we go there every summer and winter. My aunt lives in Ann Arbor and it's a beautiful area.

Notre Dame...I'm slightly biased with lots of family ties there...but it really depends on if you want a good private school with religious values, or a public school...

UND is a private university - with a Catholic history. UM@AA is a public school. They are very different institutions. You need to do some homework to determine which one suits your goals in life.
