I'm planning on getting an MBA (dual with another degree). I wouldn't mind going to the top schools if they were cheaper, but I'll do it if I absolutely have to. For those who went to lower ranked schools, how do you feel now? Were you satisfied with your starting salary? Any regrets?

MBA from well known places surely count. but one must try to get into at least medium ones. because there is a mind game going on in every employee that if we get employers from top colleges, they can serve us better. but in the end, i would also say that luck also counts very much. and one should study hard and clear the concepts, where ever he studies.

You are looking at this in the wrong way; your second sentence is worrisome. If you can get into a top school, then the cost should be looked at as an investment, because it is usually a completely different experience than getting the degree elsewhere and is a tremendous asset to your career. If you are currently in your dream job and just need the ticket punched to move up, then go ahead and go to a local school which may be less expensive, but if you are looking at starting a new career, and can get into a top school, I have never met anyone who regretted it (and I have met plenty of people who regretted suboptimizing and getting a lesser degree).
