First two answers are correct. Accounting is a constantly growing profession that will be around forever. If anybody tells you accounting is a simple profession that will be phased out by computerization, doesn't know what is involved in accounting.
Good luck

The first response was a good one.
Management in and of itself is a dying profession. True companies will always need some type of manager, but companies and corporations are trying to eliminate middle managers with bloated salaries and flatten their organizational hierarchies. It saves money. So who gets to stay? The worker bees and the big shots. Who are the big shots? People who know the ins and outs of the company's operations, and what the company needs to do to survive. Who knows these things? Accountants.
Accounting will be the most necessary of all the business majors well into the future, as far as anyone can tell. Accountants can manage businesses. Managers can't necessarily be accountants.
Accounting is your best bet, hands down.

Well they are 2 very different majors so the best answer would be the one you enjoy the most.
But as far as your future goes accounting. it is one profession that is always necessary and will be around forever. Every company needs an accountant.
Also you dont need to study management to become a manager. Most managers get their position because of their experience, not because they have a management degree.

Why not do a combination of both. I started out majoring in accounting but switched to corporate accounting and managerial finance. Stuck with the financial end but don't plan on being CPA. Theres tons of accounting and finance jobs so you have lots of options.
