I tried looking up info on grants, but most of the sites I found I have to buy a book to find out. Is there a way to find out if I qualify for grants without buying anything? And I don't know anything about financial aid, do you pay back the loan after graduating? And what if I don't qualify for financial aid? Sorry the question is so long but I have so many questions and can't find any answers.

I understand that college is meant to be a journey through which you explore many aspects of life and try to discover who you are but that seems to take college kids away from academics which is essentially what they went to college for !!!! If you take into consideration the time spent working and on relationships and fun, doesn't that leave the students with very little time for academics !!! I'm just wondering.

Or did ur roomie ever walk around naked in front of you? This is mainly for guys, but girls can answer too. How often was it? I guess this question could extend to a shared apartment? Would you be ok with it? If not why? What would you say to them? If it happened everyday?

Ok, because teachers are evil, my Sociology teacher assigned a paper over Spring break. I need your help. If you could please send me 10-12 words that you think relate to 'aging' or 'old' you will be my next best friend (after the 15 people I have already promised die.) So for example, you might think that 70 is 'old' so that would be one of your words (or phrases) Please give your answers in list form. I have to get 14+ people this next week. If you do choose to participate, please include your Age, Gender, Location, and Ethnicity as these are all part of the assignment. If you don't include them I have to guess. Thanks everyone

Please give your answers in list form like this:
1. 70
2. walkers
3.
4.
etc
thanks!

I'm in high school right now and am doing this college credit program at the same time so I will be earning my associates degree and high diploma at the same time. My friend went to the community college for 2 years and then transfered to a four-year university and they accepted all her college credits. Is there anything wrong with going to a community college? Why do so many people look down on it? Why don't a lot of high school students do it?

I have decided that I want to teach at the community college or university level and am prepared to go back to school for an advanced degree but I have not yet decided on which field I will pursue.

My biggest concern is with job availability and job security once I invest the time and money for an advanced degree. I'm wondering which fields/subjects have the highest demand for professors/instructors? Which areas would offer the best job security?

I'll be graduating high school this June and am choosing nursing as my career choice for the future. My question is this: Should I go to the community college for two years and then transfer to a universiy (I want my bachelor's degree) or should I just go to a university for the full four years? I'm paying for college without the help of my parents so the community college would obviously be cheaper, but would it be beneficial? Is a community college's nursing program the same as a university's program? How would it work if I transferred? I'm so confused right now. Any information or advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I got a perfect on the verbal section on the SATs. Do you think that that is a rare thing or not something to be that proud of?

If I have a low Gpa (3.4) and medium sat score (1350/1600) with a perfect verbal score- and I apply as an English major- there will even be a remote chance of getting into JHU?
(This reasoning comes from the fact that most people applying to JHU want to be premeds.)

I will be getting out of the Coast Guard in May and I will have two years to complete my degree. I am a business major but I am also pre-med... I know that if I stuck with just business, a degree from Berkely is much more valuable, and I also believe it will enhance my chances of getting into a med school. UNLV would be a lot cheaper for me, but I am just trying to weigh the two options.
