I'm wanting to leave university before sitting my semester 2 exams. i was wanting to know if anybody knows what the consequences of that would be and if the university would allow me to resit later in the summer, and if i need an excuse not to go to the exams.

During my first degree, I decided that I wanted to transfer to a different uni and as such never went to my exams. I got an automatic fail in the subjects (as the exams were worth 50% each) and I was put on academic probation - meaning that if I failed another unit in the next two years I would be kicked out of the uni! The only way for me to pass the units, would be to retake the units in the next semester. I'm now doing a different degree an much happier though..

At my uni, the only way to resit an exam, would be with a valid reason - for instance illness, death in the family or so on. Even then you have to resit them about 3 weeks later...

Check with your uni, they should have info about this sorta thing on their website...

You need to as for an IP or an incomplete. You need to have some documented excuse. However, you will need to make up those exams the following semester, or they will turn into an F.

won't paintings. I, myself, had problems with melancholy earlier this semester and all of my professors mentioned it wasn't a valid excuse. So I actual do no longer think of he will excuse the absence if it replaced into merely your chum. faculties are ridiculous with absences. i replaced into unwell with the flu for a week, had a doctor's be conscious, yet replaced into nonetheless counted absent by way of fact it wasn't "college properly-known". I missed an examination in this time yet wasn't excused so i finished up failing the examination and ultimately the class.

Since most universities are different, you may want to consult with and advisor at the university you attend and reference the student handbook.
