I am considering going to graduate school and pursuing a teaching PhD in History or Sociology, but I am already 35 and don't have a lot of money. I don't have a family either. I would like to teach college classes and write a few little books as a job after graduate school. Is it too late?

I'm currently a marketing major at San Diego State University and I want to know what everyone else is majoring in. I'm majoring in marketing because I've always enjoyed consumer behavior and understanding how to better serve the general public in their purchase decisions of goods, services and ideas through the use of the media, publiic relations, sales promotions, and direct marketing. Now about you?

Is it better to go straight to grad school after finishing undergrad studies, or would it be wiser to take some time off before heading to grad school?

My cousin has an interview for pharmacy in a week. One of the popular questions at the interview is "what are the negative aspects of pharmacy" When I first heard this question, I didn't know how to answer it. Since its an interview, we can't say something very negative else the interviewer might ask why she even chose to pursue pharmacy then. So the answer has to be something negative about pharmacy but not too negative so the interviewer doens't say why you even wnat to be a pharmacist then.

I was wondering, I'm taking basic courses for my major. But I want to go back to school few years later after I graduate and change my major.

What if I'm taking the same basic courses for the other major, I already took those basic courses, does that mean it's different major so I have to take it again?

I have no intentions of getting one, (I'm already in a University...I was just curious) but are the ones from places like "University of Phoenix Online" taken seriously by workplaces?

I see Yahoo! propping these places up all the time...For instance I just seen an article on Yahoos! front page entitled: "Why Online Degrees are so Hot."

Whats the word on this?

All the colleges I'm looking at going to are around or a little more than $30,000 per year, and then there's also the cost of living. My family is definitly not poor, but we can't pay that or really even help pay for it because, 1) we're in a lot of credit card debt because my mom spent us into oblivion, and 2) my parents never really started saving for my education. I don't know a lot of details, but we have 5 kids, a lot of debt, an annual income of around $123,000 and we live in Oregon. I know this probably doesn't help much, but if anybody out there knows anything about college aid, it would be helpful!! It just sucks because I know my family makes more than a lot than other families, but because of our debt and lack of savings, I'll be more than $175,000 in debt by the time I graduate...
