This would be someone shaking their head no but saying yes. Or if you cross your arms while telling someone that you want to discuss something. Or if you are doing situps while stating that you never exercise. Of batting your eyelashes and showing some leg and leaning in towards someone and saying in a sexy voice, I'm not flirting with you.

It is said that non-verbal communication is 80% of the communiation. Thats why taking into consideration non-verbal meaning is so important. Thats why silence is sometimes very loud. Loud not in literal sense but psychologically.

Example#1:- Suppose your mom asked you to help your cousin with her homework, you might not want to help that cousin since they cousin had been evil to you before, but just for the sake of your mom, you might say "yes" and offer to help. In that case, if you analyze your emotions, your facial expression will be contradicting the verbal answer you give.

Example#2: Imagine you are in a group meeting with all the peers and the group moderator along with the entire group has agreed upon something that you dont believe in. When the group moderator asks everybody whether they are ok with the decision, when you keep quiet (because u disagree), that itself speaks a million words. A smart group moderator should immediately recognize the silence and ask you what your opinion is.

We do things like rollings eyes, showing sigh of relief, facial expressions, looking down when answering a question etc, and all these non-verbal body language/actions speak more than verbal actions and sometimes contradicts since you might be doing something unwillingly.

What someone is saying may not be the truth .Examples: 1) If a police officer is questioning a suspect in a crime, and the suspect swears he is innocent, but he will not look at the officer and he is sweating and trembling, the officer knows that he is not innocent. Non-verbal communication has contradicted the verbal. 2) If I tell you I love you but when you touch my arm I pull away, I am lying. Non-verbal has contradicted the verbal and has revealed my true feelings.
3) If I am talking to you about a particular issue and you say that you agree with my position but your arms are crossed
by your chest, you are lying. This is hostile body position.

Nonverbal communication is the manner & posture that a person presents while speaking. If you are telling someone the ship is fine not to worry while you are putting on a life jacket and getting into a lowering life boat abandoning the very ship your telling them not to worry about, you nonverbal communication is contradicting your verbal communiction.

Body language is an example of nonverbal communication that can contradict what a person is saying. If a person says she or he trusts you very much but but the arms are crossed over the chest and the legs are crossed, then the body language indicates you are not trusted by that person.

A non-verbal communication is a facial expression or a gesture that can convey a different message than the spoken word. Body language sometimes speaks louder than words.

Absolutely. I had a friend named TJ. He was a recruiter for the Navy that had to be reassigned. The reason? He had a nervous twitch that would shake his head very slightly side to side (like a "no"). His recruitment numbers were always low. He also happened to be a good magician. He worked his little head shake into the act, like a loss of confidence. But believe me, that was an act. He is a pro.

Someone who has an ipod blaring in their ear while saying "Hey, I'm here for you. Tell me your problems."

Someone sitting in a restaurant, uneasily looking at their watch, tapping their toe, while assuring the waiter/waitress that they don't mind waiting another 15 minutes for their food.

Someone in a heated discussion with a husband/wife who scowls and says "It's okay if your Mother comes to stay with us for the entire summer."
