I think a lot of things change. The main thing is that you don't get caught up in all of the changes, and always remember why you are there - to get an education. When I started college a lot of kids couldn't hack it. They found the immense freedom to much to handle and they fell into the drinking and parting crowd, a semester or two later they were on the bus going home. You should enjoy yourself just don't get caught up. There is no homework but you still have to study. There is no curfew but if you don't sleep well, you don't perform well. Moderation is the key. Just remember that a lot of kids never get the opportunity to attend college and some of them are smarter than you. It is a wonderful experience and not to waste it. A lot of people would love to be there and they never get the opportunity, you did so don't waste it. Have fun but do it in moderation esp if you drink, if you chose to have sex always protect yourself, and always use your head.

From purely an academic perspective, HS was a lot easier than college. At least that is my opinion/experience. HS was a lot of "5 minute homework" or homework that could be done at lunch, etc. Sometimes I brought work home and spent an hour doing it. No big deal.

College was a lot harder. For me, I started off studying like I was in HS. I did ok. A's and B's for the most part. But after I left the general courses (chemistry, English, calculus) I got hammered because I still studied the night before or did HW the night before like I was in HS. It's a lot more studying and a lot more work.

One other thing....you are a lot more dependent on working with others (at least I was in engineering). You need to tackle assignments together and help each other out. This may not be the same for business majors - or education majors - but I have no idea since I was not in those programs.

Most likely you are going to be living on your own/in a dorm.
the responsibility is solely on you. teachers arent going to care if you show up to class, they arent going to nag you like teachers do in high school.
its up to you to stay on top of your studies and learn time management.
take your classes serious and maintain a good GPA.
Also, you may stay in touch with some friends, but sometimes you are going to lose touch with some other friends. so be ready for that, and be ready to make new friends at college.
