Is there an actual payment that says "welfare"? I've received unemployment after getting laid off. I don't get it anymore since I moved to a new state. I have an appointment pending to see if I qualify for WIC. Is there really such a check that you recieve stating "welfare" or is that just a term??

I'm 18, and I want to be a high school history teacher. I am currently living in Kentucky and finishing my last year of high school, but in June of 2008 I will be moving to Missouri to go to college. The problem is, I cannot afford college at all. By the time I move I will have only $1,500.00 saved up. I know this isn't much, but I live in a very small town of only 1,900 and there are no high paying part-time jobs here. It is will cost me $500 dollars to move to Missouri, but once I am there I will be staying with family for free. With only $1,000.00 left There is no way for me to afford college! My GPA is currently a 4.0, and I got a 27 on the ACT. In Missouri are there any special grants, scholarships, loans, etc. for people who want to become a teacher? I need as much financial help as I can get and it will be hard for me to take out a loan because I'm only 18 and have no one to co-sign one. Please give me any information that you can I would appreciate it so much!

Ok i plan on goin to school at a rather expensive school in NYC next year. And from what i hear all the money u earn decreases the "financial need" that a college helps you meet. So how can i in the city make money under the table concistentlly to help pay for my college expenses.
THanks For your time

I graduated in 2005 with a hefty graduation bill. I still owe on it while paying on my student loans. My goal originally was to continue my masters program. I still have that as my goal but must pay for the graduation portion which is very costly for me at this time. Since then my health is an issue, my credit is not good and I'm the only income out of two. My spouse can't work because of health problems that I'm paying for. Any comments?

OK. i'm a senior in high school and i've been considering joining the army reserves to pay for college. i want to go to university of texas at san antonio. usually i wouldn't consider it but it seems a pretty sweet deal. i would have to go through training the summer after i graduate and after that i would only have to go to work one weekend out of the month. for that one weekend i go to work they'll pay me over $800. plus if i sign up now i would get $1400 a year and a bonus of $20,000. they would give me half the bonus up front and the rest i would get in payments. the thing is i'd have to sign up for six years and HELLO we are at war so there is a chance i could still get shipped off. So what do you think, is it worth it? i'd really appreciate some input from people that are already in the reserves and maybe from those who are in active duty too. muchisimas gracias!

Back in the day, you could claim bankrupsy. Now you can defer, stay in school or a million different ways to procrastinate paying back. I've used them all up, except for going back to school. I want to change my major and have ruined my credit and want to be able to just erase the money I borrowed. Do I have a choice?

Hi - if someone dropped out of University before the University had taken the fees for tuition and accomadation, what would happen. Would they call the police or debt collection agency to come to the alternative address that you put when applying or would they leave it. I have read that if University fees are not paid you get kicked out but if you leave before paying then can you get away with it?

Just wondering

Thanks

Help! Help! Help! I am currently a grad student who needs more student loans. I don't have good credit, and getting a co- signer is NOT an option. The federal loans will not cover all expenses. What do I do? I'm trying to get private loans, but of course, they are credit based, or I need a co-signer. My education should not suffer just because my credit is not good!

Is the bass clarinet a good scholarship instrument? I'm kind of in a bind with money, and any little scholarship would help me. There is another instrument owned by the school that's bigger and more rare than the bass clarinet. I don't remember waht it's called, but it's bigger and more expensive than a bass clarinet. Would this bigger instrument be better for a scholarship? I'm a freshman, and I have a chance to switch. Should I?

I am planning on taking a 6-credit graduate course this spring. The cost will be approximately $3500. The company I work for has a program that will cover the total cost and fees, but only after completion of the course with a satisfactory grade. So I'm looking for a recommendation on what loan program I should use to get the $3500 in January 2008, but then have it all repaid by June 2008. Thank you in advance for your recommendations.
