Go to fastweb.com. It helps you pick out scholarships, by having you enter information, and then narrowing available scholarships down based on what criteria you fulfill. And it's free! It's what I used when I was looking for financial aid!

Good Luck!

This is such a broad question--because there are hundreds, maybe thousands, of scholarships out there you can apply for. First thing you should do is stop by your guidance counselors office and ask him or her. They should have literature on some scholarships you can go for. Next, go to the library or search online. There are books of scholarships that you can find at Barnes and Noble that lists tons of them. (Check out Peterson's Scholarships, Grants, and Prizes 2008 and Free $ for College for Dummies, to name just a couple.) Also, you might want to research the schools you're applying to. Some of them have scholarships already set up that are usually dependent on your average. (I got one from my college for $3,000 and all I had to do was maintain more than a 2.5 average.) I also got one from Amoco for $1,000 through an organization called Aspira. There are all kinds of weird scholarships out there based on your ethnicity, the city you live in, your future career, a certain talent. For example, if you're Italian, look up sites like The Knights of Columbus and see if they are offering scholarships. Ask your parents if the companies they work for offer the children of employees scholarships. (My company does.) And go to the library and ask a librarian for resources. And even if you think you don't completely qualify, apply anyway! The worst they can say is no. Good luck!

There are many scholarship opportunities out there that you may be eligible for. My advice to you is to apply for more than one scholarship, and use more than one scholarship search. More information can be found at my source. Good Luck. I went to college for free, so can you.

Apply for scholarships through your local community foundation. I did last year, and I received three scholarships totaling $2500 (and I only had to fill out one application). You're more likely to receive them, too, since its a smaller applicant pool- only kids in your school or city instead of a national or statewide contest. Good luck!
