Im in middle school (6th grade) and I am very concerned
about my grades. I have Bs and As. Bs are not that great for me. I am striving to get into Harvard Medical School. But,
my parents don't have that much money. I was wondering how,
when, and why we get scholarships. If you had a scholarship
from harvard that will be great. If you had any scholarship...good! Please tell me what i have to do and in
which grade, the scholarships will effect me. Will As and Bs
get me in? (please, no rude coments or answers.)
Thank u!

I have tuition debt with my university, and in my letter to the attorney I acknowledged the tuition debt (I did not agree to pay interest or any other charges) and said that I would pay a small monthly amount toward the debt. To be clear here, I only acknowledged the tuition debt and I have never signed any agreement that contains accrued interest or any other charges.

When I was going through past payments to make sure that the debt amount was correct, I realized that past several payments had not been reflected on my account. Specifically, I made several payments to avoid my account from being forwarded to colletion agency, and half of these payments were never reflected! And thus, my account was forwared to collection. I could not work out with collections, so the school's attorney came in.

How can I use their failure to properly process my past payments to my defence or advantage?

Right now I am a sophmore in college and I am planning on going to college as soon as I graduate. My grades are not amazing or anything because I have several severe learning disorders. I do not have time to play sports because I work everyday after school. Those are the only ways I can think of to get scholarships. I am very interested in arts and fashion programs. What are other ways to get college scholarships? Thank you so much for your help!

My dad is a veteran but never looked into how you get proof of it when I fill out college financial aid.

Where can he call or go to find out what benefits are available?

My parents never wanted to pay for any tuition that might be required for me to attend any internship or program offered over the summer. But I need to be more active in the community in order to get into a good college right? So how can I sum up a good amount of money without their help and as soon as possible? The application deadline is like days away and I at least need an application fee of $95, while the full tuition would be 6,999.

Wow, I got so far and now I'm screwed. My mom has no assets so she cannot fill them out, we'll that's what she claims. My dad has bank accounts and assets up to $300,000. He does not want anything to do with the applications and refuses to even look at them. I cannot fill them out, I'm only 18. I don't know what to do... I can't go to university without financial aid, its to expensive. My parents were going to pay the Expected Family contribution now they have reneged. What should I do? Please help...

So I worked this year, part time for a few months, and made about $3000 to $4000, like somewhere in the middle, and that’s working part-time, while going to school full time. I was wondering, how much I would expect to pay for taxes. Because I don’t know what the percentage is… can anyone give me a rough estimate. [By the way, I live in California, as a permanent resident, for now]

I've found a local trade school that is short (6 months 8AM-12) for under $11,000. The guy who founded it is a local legend. He's taught at two other schools in the area and been in the trade for well over 30 years. Most of the local techs were either trained by him or know of his reputation.

He wanted to open a school that was cheaper/shorter than the two others in the area, without the padding they put into to qualify for government grants.

I don't think his school qualifies for government grants, which I would qualify for, but on the other hand the other schools are a year to two long. His school still gets you EPA refrigerant certified along with the unofficial industry standard certification (no real required certification exists). I trust his reputation after verifying it with other techs.

What I'd like to do is defer payment until after graduating. Any links to try? I believe they offer FannieMae. Also would like to take out $4000 more as a buffer to pay bills. Ideas?

What a tangled web I weave. My situation is the following; I failed over 6 classes between my freshman fall 2006 and spring 2007 semester due to my own mistakes and personal problems...whats done is done. I originally had financial aid, a $1000 pell grant, and a $2000 stafford loan. I paid my own summer 2007 semester (finan. aid does not cover) and finally made some progress and got B+ in both my classes. Now I find myself wanting to continue into the Spring 2008 semester but due to my academic probation and failed classes not only have i lost my financial aid but my stafford loan and pell grant have defaulted and i need to pay $3000 before ever considering taking another class. I know there probably isn't a straight answer to resolve this but has anyone experienced a similar situation or know what steps can be taken? Any help will be appreciated.

This might seem like a silly question but you never know until you ask. I have a few thousand in loans and was wondering if there were any grants or scholarships that I could get eventhough I have already obtained my degree.

Thanks.

I am 21 years old and live at home with my dad. I don't have much school credits under my belt. I get a check every month for 1000 dollars, and 5000 dollars semi-annually until I am 23.I also get a check for 2,868 every month but that doesn't start until I am 25. I am going to look for a different job, probably get two jobs I don't know. I still need a car, although I am looking for something practical. I mean, there are plenty of other people who have survived right?
