I'm 18, and I want to be a high school history teacher. I am currently living in Kentucky and finishing my last year of high school, but in June of 2008 I will be moving to Missouri to go to college. The problem is, I cannot afford college at all. By the time I move I will have only $1,500.00 saved up. I know this isn't much, but I live in a very small town of only 1,900 and there are no high paying part-time jobs here. It is will cost me $500 dollars to move to Missouri, but once I am there I will be staying with family for free. With only $1,000.00 left There is no way for me to afford college! My GPA is currently a 4.0, and I got a 27 on the ACT. In Missouri are there any special grants, scholarships, loans, etc. for people who want to become a teacher? I need as much financial help as I can get and it will be hard for me to take out a loan because I'm only 18 and have no one to co-sign one. Please give me any information that you can I would appreciate it so much!

You should look into course work offered by the community college in the county in Missouri. It may be accepted by colleges in Missouri. Second, a good part of the tuition may be covered by the HOPE tax credit on your income tax.
