The only 100% free site to get a credit report is at:
www.annualcreditreport.com
DO NOT GO TO www.freecreditreport.com! When you register with their website, you are getting a credit report, but they will also enroll you in a "credit protection" program, which basically means they are going to charge you a monthly fee to "monitor" your credit for you. This happened to me and I didn't realize it until I noticed a charge from them, then I called to cancel. At annualcreditreport.com all you get is your FREE credit report, which is what you really only wanted in the first place.
By federal law, you are entitled to one free credit report per year from each of the three main credit bureaus. This means a total of 3 free reports each year. The only thing you do NOT get for free is your credit score. Most credit bureaus with charge a small fee ($5-$10) for the score.
When you log on for the first time you will create a user ID and password, so be sure to write these down and keep them in a safe place. You will need to log in each time you wish to request a report and it can tell whether or not you are due another free report.

Privacy Matters 1-2-3 gives you instant access to your 3 bureau credit report and triple credit scores. We also start monitoring all your credit files the minute you get your first report. You will always have a complete, current snapshot of your credit history and credit worthiness as reported by all three credit bureaus. This is an important step in creating a total credit monitoring and protection program.

Talk to your bank. They should be able to refer you.
I used the web site below. If you cancel within one month the service is free. You should get a credit report in three to four weeks as part of the service.

I read the first reply and this is not true. Banks will not release credit history info unless you get a loan from the bank (and acutally sign it). However, you can go to www.annualcreditreport.com and get a free one.
