Most schools require freshmen to live on campus, if they aren't at home with their families, and there are reasons for that. You really don't want to be dealing with bad landlords and utility repairmen while getting used to college.

One of the great parts about going to college is meeting a lot of new people. Getting a whole new start with people that haven't known you since the first grade. Although living with old friends can be comforting I'd say go for the adventure! The best place to do that is the dorm.

you can't miss the experience of living in a dorm! plus it's less expensive, well i guess it depends on where u go...
If you like meeting new people go with the dorms.
