How much longer do you think the PS2 will be around?

I had one but went off to college and I am thinking about getting another one since my brother uses mine now.

Question. Iam thinking about getting a PS3 or a XBOX 360 soon. I just wanted to know if i could play the games for regular XBOX on a 360? Could I play the regular games for a PS2 on a PS3?

I know there's supposed to be an announcement on friday about the ps3, and with the 40gb comming out soon with less features I'm turning to the almost extinct 60gb. What does the 60 gb have that the 40gb doesn't? And what are the benefits to it. (I mean I don't know what it's all used for, slots and all)
I want to know what i'm limited to with the 40 gb- Backwards compatibility i already know but overall with downloading stuff onto it and memory and s**t...Help!

I have a "paper and tissue" modded slim ps2, (its a mod without soldering) and swap magic disks. This console can play burnt ps2 games. I was wondering, if I sell just the console and the Swap magic, is it illegal? Will I get a big email from the fed saying I owe thousands of dollars? How do I know I'll be safe?

How can I send a movie file that is 3,155,220 KB to my email and download it on the PlayStation 3? I don't have a DVD. I only have a 1GB USB drive. I also can't use Windows Media Player 11 because I don't have a router. Someone please help me! Anything that does not cost money would be a good solution.

I am getting a PS3 in about a week but I know nothing about the system. I will probably get the 60gb version. How do you get updates for the system? How do you hook it up to the internet. Also I heard that you can load some kind of operating system onto it. What is the operating system called, where can I get it, how much does it cost and what can it do? My children want a playstation for xmas. They are 6 and 9 years old. I only can afford about £150.oo (sterling) and from the answers I have had, it seems that its a bit of a waste of money to buy a PS2. I would love a ps3 or a Wii but they are too expensive for me.
If I buy a PS2 with one controller, there is a package which includes 5 games that I know they'd enjoy, for £130 plus £9.99 for an extra controller. Should I bother, or not?

Isn't it unfair that 360 users can play pirated games and PS3 users can't. Place where I live, its very easy to buy pirated 360 games and they all work fine and so most of my friends went for the 360. I stuck by the PS3 nevertheless as I'm a huge PS3 fan but now I'm thinking. Was it worth it to spend $60 just to buy a game when I could could have got 10 pirated games which work just as well if I had bought a 360?
Is there any hope that PS3 games will get pirated in the near future?
PS-(I know piracy is a crime. Try telling that to my friends! So don't give me a lecture on that.)

That doesn't include the extra remote b/c my cousin is giving me one of his. And I won't be buying any games b/c I already bought Madden 2008 for it and I'll be playing that for a bit. BTW I am purchasing the 80 gig that comes with Motor Storm. Thanks alot.

I want to know if I can play it in the US without using a transformer because transformers get hot pretty fast and I might be playing for a long time. Are there any other solutions? I am on my 3rd X360. I'ts been barely 3 weeks since Microsoft gave me a new x360. Every time I play for maybe a couple of minutes the x360 turns off by it's self and instead of the typical 3 rings of death I now have only 2 red flashing lights, so I don't know what the hell is wrong with it now.

In God of War, when Kratos is in Pandora's Temple and he is in the vicinity of the room with the saw blades rolling on the floor, he can make his way outside to climb the walls towards a tower.

Once in the tower, he enters a room with a wooden floor. The exits are sealed and he has to fend off Sirens and some demons with gold shields, impenetrable to either his chain axes or Hermes' blade. After a minute or so, the floor collapses and Kratos seemingly falls into a red pit followed by the announcement that you are "dead."

My question is two fold: 1) How do you get out of that room with the collapsable wooden floor? What am I supposed to do? 2) Where do you find the handle to the lever in order to raise Atlas' globe for release to break through the crack in the wall?
