Wired only or wired/wireless?
Just wired is usually the cheapest you can get.
If you want wireless, again b/g are the cheapest. If you want pre-N, you have to pay more.
Netgear, Linksys, and Buffalo are all pretty good.

i got NETGEAR WPN824 RangeMax Wireless Router for 80 bucks, it works well and when it is hooked up to the computer u just gotta scan with the ps3 and it picks it up. i recommend it, i got a 130 dollar linksys wireless router first, but i couldnt get it to work.

Awesome for wireless/wired.
Gaming/Networking.
Good price for the quality.
Comes is a blue/green box, you can get it at radio shack, wal-mart, etc.
Easy set-up too.
