It is not backward compatible and only has 2 USB slots and no memory card reader. It is still worth it for me because if I want to play a ps2 game I'll just use my ps2. It's cheaper in price. If you don't like the features then buy another one, but the 60GB is no longer in production.

I have the 60GB PS3 and I think that you should get that one. It will be the only PS3 with the best backwards compatibility with PS2 and PS1 games.

I don't think that the 40GB PS3 will have built in WiFi, but there's no telling, it could. For me the WiFi is very good to have, I get my PS3 online by using wireless internet. You just never know when you could be in a hotel or something with free WiFi.

The 60GB PS3 is really the best one to get and plus, you will have one of the rarest versions of the PS3 in a few years.
