Heya.. I've had my PS3 for nearly 6 months now and yesterday when I was playing it suddenly had a disc-error. I thought it was just the disc but when I tried the others it won't run smoothly and gets stuck often, how do I solve this? Any suggestions or similar experiences? Thanks.

My PS3 (60GB) 4 months old + 3games (20+40+40 value)+ extra controller

With Wii (relatively new with 3 year warranty with receipt) + 2 wiimotes, 1 nunchuck, wii play, no sport, and 2 more games.
+ Ipod Video 60GB + Paintball gun (probably worth 50 dollars.)

Please help me make the decision. I prefer PS3 to Wii, but i thought it could be better to get the Wii with 3 year warranty and sell it. and Buy the PS3 when the price goes down. I'm in desperate need of that little bit of more money because i unfortunately don't have a TV atm. Thanks.

I heard that they are going to make a new PS3 that WILL NOT be able to play PS2 games. I hope this isnt true, but my mom heard it from the electronics guy at work. Is it true?

i was wondering if i dont have a hd tv will the graphics still be good on a regularly tv? and also would it be worth buying blue-ray dvds to watch or would it be the same graphics on a standard tv? i want a ps3 i dont have an HD tv so should i still get a ps3? i dont wanna waste my money if i dont have good graphics. also can i play battlefield 2 online on the ps3 its a ps2 game though? and can you transfer your memory on your memory card to the hards drive and how and what do you need for that?

Over the next six months I am planning on buying several games for my PS3. I will for sure be buying Haze and Killzone 2, but other than these Shooters, there are tons of games that look great and I am having trouble trying to decide.

Could you please tell me which games look the best out of the following options? I plan on getting one out of each two listed.

Clive Barker's Jericho vs. Blacksite: Area 51

Assassins Creed vs. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

Ratchet and Clank Future vs. Army of Two

Gran Tourismo 5 vs. Turok

Fallout 3 vs. Metal Gear Solid 4

and finally...

Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion: Game of the Year Edition

I know some of the comparisons may not seem logical, but I am a man with a budget (especially after buying my PS3, Wii, and LCD flat screen!) and really want to get the most for my money.

Please tell me what you think I should buy and why. Your opinions will be very helpful.

I've been reading articles on how they are cutting the price back by $100 but they are also taking away the ability to play playstation 2 games and dvd's and cd's doesn't seem like a big selling point! Anyone willing to buy a ps3 to just play ps3 games or blueray and nothing else!

I brought a ps3 from the US i tried to use a converter with it and the converter blew they told me to get one that takes 400W or over i cant find that AAAAAAAAARGHHHHHHH i dont know what to do help!

I want to use my controllers on my friends PS3, but when i pres the PS button the LED's just flash and turn off. Do i have to do anything to sync it up eg: USB cable or something? and if so can i still use them on my own console?

This isn't really a question its more of a debate.
I am sick of reading the Xbox fans saying the PS3 is crap, or always breaking down, or not having any good games etc.
It's all bullsh*t.
The Xbox 360 is good, but not better than the ps3. The Ps3 has a hell of a lot more power than the 360 and there are several games that are coming out that will start using a good portion of the Ps3 like
Metal Gear Solid 4
Gran Turismo HD
GTA 4
Final Fantasy just to name a few.
Also, The Ps3 3 is more reliable than the 360.
sure the 360 is cheaper, but 30% of them break down and you have to send away for a new 360.The PS3 has something like a 0.5% Breakdown percentage which is a lot lower.
Also the Ps3 has a Blueray player, inbuilt Wifi and Bluetooth.
To play the Xbox online you have to Pay money, the ps3 has everything built in and it is totally free to play.
Also, The Xbox fans r tellin people to get xbox 360 coz of Halo3, that seems 2 be the only advantge to Xbox 360

I dont have the money for a PC upgrade and I dont want the Wii. Im deciding between the Xbox 360 and the PS3, but have lately been leaning towards the PS3. If i get the 360, then I would buy the HD DVD player which will add up to make the xbox more expensive than the PS3 which come with the Blue-ray player. Also, the PS3 is a much more powerful system hardware wise. The only thing that bother me about it is that there is not nearly as much content available for it as for the Xbox 360. Should I get it or reconsider the Xbox?

I really want to purchase a PS3, but i recently heard that they were doing away with the 60GB version. That makes me wonder when/if they are going to drop the price again on the 80GB version. I don't want to buy the 80GB if they are going to drop the price anytime soon. Any ideas?

360 games are overrated like halo the reason it was sold is because it got hyped i mean comon everytime theres a commercial of a multiplatform game the commercial makes it look like its a 360 exclusive and what happenned to the ps3 ads

and now Haze that game can be our Halo if that game gets alot of hype the xbots will be crying why is it a ps3 exclusive that game looks so tight but they got 2 hype it

They are horizontal lines moving in an upwards direction. They are on when in gameplay and when in the main menu. I am using the color cables and they are connected to a regular Apex telivision. Ive had the system for a while now, a couple of months. Can someone help me get rid of those annoying lines?

Ok i dont understand this. The new 40GB PS3 is NOT Backward compatible but the 60GB is... but neither have the PS2 chip to play all PS2 games surely its an emulation like the Xbox 360 and the original xbox where you get software updates enabling BC. The question i have is if its a free download anyway that will be available to all 60GB PS3 users than why not just let the 40GB people use it too???
