This isn't really a question its more of a debate.
I am sick of reading the Xbox fans saying the PS3 is crap, or always breaking down, or not having any good games etc.
It's all bullsh*t.
The Xbox 360 is good, but not better than the ps3. The Ps3 has a hell of a lot more power than the 360 and there are several games that are coming out that will start using a good portion of the Ps3 like
Metal Gear Solid 4
Gran Turismo HD
GTA 4
Final Fantasy just to name a few.
Also, The Ps3 3 is more reliable than the 360.
sure the 360 is cheaper, but 30% of them break down and you have to send away for a new 360.The PS3 has something like a 0.5% Breakdown percentage which is a lot lower.
Also the Ps3 has a Blueray player, inbuilt Wifi and Bluetooth.
To play the Xbox online you have to Pay money, the ps3 has everything built in and it is totally free to play.
Also, The Xbox fans r tellin people to get xbox 360 coz of Halo3, that seems 2 be the only advantge to Xbox 360

and also Arminato the link you gave me about the PSN not staying free...
It was saying that in the future anything could change, but for now they are happy with the way it is going.
there are no plans to charge for it they were just saying that like anything in the world, it could change.

Heres what I'm sick of:
I'm sick of Bull Goose Looney cut and pasting the same tech info on every question. Sure, its all true and the PS3 is better but damn can I get an original thought.
I'm also sick of Arminator posting links that prove nothing. You want the REAL proof. Pick up a copy of Halo 3 and pick up a copy of Resistance and see which one looks cleaner and more polished. I just got into Halo last night and I'm disappointed with the look of it. Not to say that it doesn't have great graphics, but if Halo 3 looks great then Resistance must look a small notch below perfection...and Heavenly Sword must be...errr...umm...heavenly.
Fact of the matter is, every slight that the 360 fans have against the PS3 will be irrelevant by this time next year. The game debate will be even, HOME will be a close matchup with XBox Live, PS3 graphics will leave the rest behind (if they haven't already) and Xbox fans will still be paying extra cash for faulty inferior system that will be playing multiplatform games on multiple discs.
I'm done debating...I'll come back next year to see what the NEW argument is.

Sorry, to disagree. There are real tests and factual information on how and why the Xbox 360 is more powerful than the PS3 (look at the link below).
To sum it up: Sony has put a lot of Cell cores in the PS3 to make streaming floating point calculations.
This is all well with number crunching applications like the folding at home.
However in an interactive gaming environment, the situation is always changing, there is no predetermined streaming program path, as the user is constantly changing the gaming environment.
Therefore only the only one general purpose CPU of the PS3 is mostly used in games, whereas games on the Xbox 360 can use its three general purpose CPUs all the time.
As with your games listed: See above. These games are fully interactive games, that can only fully take advantage of one general purpose CPU.
Your claim about 30% of Xbox 360 breaking down, do you have a source to show this number?
True is, that Microsoft set aside enough money to replace over one third of consoles. But that doesn't mean that 30% *will* break down.
My console is working flawlessly. And you only see so many negative reports, since no one goes on the internet and writes "Hey there. Just want to tell you all my Xbox 360 is still working today, kthxbye".
And with the free Playstation Network:
In a recent Interview there was said, that the Playstation Network may not stay free in the future.
However on the free Xbox Silver membership you can chat with friends that are playing a completely different game. Something that you can't do on PS3 (yet).
And with Halo3, I agree, the game is neat. But only one of many Xbox 360 exclusicves that you won't see on any console elsewhere.
Take for example Dead Rising. Dead or Alive 4. Crackdown. Gears of War. Project Gotham Racing. Forza Motorsport. And many many more.
However on the PS3 many previously exclusive titles are also coming on the Xbox 360. Devil May Cry for example. GTA4 will have exclusive downloadable content on the 360.
So as much as all PS3 Fans defend their platform (and it *is* a nice console), the Xbox 360 is the platform where it's at...

Well I have to admit that I have always been a Play Station fan and have had one ever since the first one came off the production line, well that was available in the US anyway, and still have it and it still works. However I still don't think I am ready to go and and drop the kind of cash Sony is asking for the PS3 without seeing some sort of major improvement in the game line up and how it work, software, hardware, after some time. Yes the Xbox has had the red lights of doom problem and they have handled it well with replacement units being shipped out free or charge. The PS3 hasn't been around as long though and it took some time for the major Microsoft problem to arise or at least come to the attention a majority of its consumers. So who is to say Sony will not have a similar problem in the near future, although as long as it was in development they should have nailed all the bugs down. Halo 3 has been the biggest grossing game pretty much of all time so of course Microsoft is going to boast about it, and it does look great and plays smoothly. I do think that the more powerful PS3 will play its top highly graphic games like The new FF just as well or not better and it should be stunning for a graphics standpoint but as far as game play goes I am not sure. It is a pretty well know fact that the games relying on the new 6 axis controller leave alot to be desired and do not allow you the ability to just use the thumb sticks as you would in the past. As far as all the other higher performance components that come on the PS3 we have to remember that it came out much later that the 360 and Microsoft has released pretty much all of these feature in aftermarket products such as blue ray. All in all I am a fan of Sony but I just think, as alot of other, that it may be just to little to late as they struggle to keep up with Microsoft and Nintendo.

for my area i like the Ps3, I grew up with the playstation , PS2, and PSP. The PS3 additionally has netflix hulu etc. The controllers dont actually matter selection, once you get your console doubt that is your first concept. Ive had my ps3 for 3-4 years now in common terms had one difficulty yet I fastened it via only unplugging it and the Ps3s that usually have issues have been the 1st ones that released(not the narrow). except you play known or play each and all of the time i might pass with Ps3. I even have many friends that use the Xbox yet I stay with it, I even have friends that Ps3s so Im happy. The Ps3 has Blu-ray and the Xbox has kinect. it extremely is a few thing you will could think of roughly however the ps3 has flow. whether I had flow or kinect I wouldnt extremely use it. The Xbox has extra video games yet thats a private determination. I dont have any lag issues(yet I unquestionably have sturdy connection). It extremely relies upon on your connection. additionally I doubt you would be throwing your ps3 like a soccer so the plastic is wonderful and the touch buttons may be a difficulty in case you have been to by twist of destiny touch it. To Halo fans I always say: "What'll happen, when you'll pass it over and over again?" :-)
Technically - here is my good ol' trusted answer. Before buying a new console I went through tons of pages, so here we go:
PS3 will win the console war, no doubt. Xbox 360 and Wii are so weak from technological point of view, that in couple of years they won't be capable of dealing with serious graphics. GTA IV, for instance, isn't even announced for Wii - this toy won't be able to cope with the game's requirements. Xbox 360 is getting GTA IV, however, the game is going to be released on several DVDs - Xbox 360 owners will have to interrupt gaming process and switch discs (Rockstar complained about this issue). Only PS3 will have it on single BD-DVD.
Let's compare PS3 and XBOX 360:
A third of XBOX 360 (33%) are malfunctioning right from the start. PS3 return rate is only around 0.2%.
PS3 has 8 (7+1) kernels in Cell processor, Xbox 360 -only 3.
PS3 uses advanced tech called Blu-Ray, one disc can store up to 54 gb (in the future - up to 200 gb), Xbox 360 - regular dual layer DVD-9 (8.5GB). It's possible to get HD-DVD (max. - 30GB) for 360, but it'll cost you around 180$, in this case Xbox is going to be MUCH more expensive, than PS3.
Calculations per sec - PS3 - 51-billion-dot-product-operati... per second
Xbox 360 - 33.6-billion-dot-product-opera... per second
PS3 has full media support - USBs, built-in 4 slots card reader (except 20GB and 40GB versions), ability to use printer and so on.
Xbox 360 has USBs and only 2 memory slots.
PS3 supports up to 7 Bluetooth Controllers
Xbox 360 - up to 4 Controllers
PS3 - wi-fi included (except 20 gb version)
Xbox 360 - wi-fi will cost you around 100 $
Graphics are stronger in PS3, due to RSX chip, that was developed by Nvidia exclusively for PS3. To estimate its power (roughly) - take 6800 Ultra nvidia graphics card, multiply it by 2 - get a result, still PS3 stronger, because 6800 Ultra runs on 400 Mhz and RSX runs on 550 Mhz.
PS3 uses technology from AGEIA company. It does to physics of the game same thing GPU (videocard processor) does to graphics. This thing is on sale for PC(special card). The price is around 350$. There is no such thing in 360.
Xbox 360 is widely known for so-called "red ring of death" problem - it gets overheated easily. My PS3 was running for more than 8 hours non-stop with no problems. Sometimes Xbox 360 becomes so overheated, that thermopaste on CPU melts, drips on motherboard and successfully shortcircuits it. That's why in some countries people call Xbox 360 "Coffin 360".
Besides all of this, I've seen disassembled Xbox 360 - regular PC architecture - Billy Gates is an uninventive nerd (as usual).
When I saw disassembled PS3 - it was a surprise - smart architecture, good cooling (don't buy external PS3 coolers - they make everything worse - original system is good), etc.
In 2008 PS3 will get more than 300 games, including Metal Gear Solid 4, The Agent and other great exclusives. Here is the good link to the future PS3 releases. http://ps3.ign.com/index/release.html......
PS3 online is free, Xbox 360 - you have to pay.
There were reports, that 360 scratches discs. No reports on that in PS3.
The funniest thing, that right now there are no games for PS3, that show full potential of the console. Biggest games weigh only 25 GB (Xbox 360 will need more than 3 discs even for those).
On PS3 you can install other OS, such as Linux Yellow Dog, Ubuntu and others. Sony officially lets you do it. There is no such thing in 360.
PS3 HDD can be replaced easily with any 2.5" SATA 5400 RPM HDD (used in laptops). 250 GB will cost you around 170$. In 360 you have to buy exclusive HDD, where 20GB will cost you 100$.
Sony expects PS3 to stay on the market for, at least, 7-10 years. Also Sony reduces price now. Soon there is going to be cheaper 40GB version of PS3.
Sony constantly upgrades PS3 software (free updates for OS) - you get new functions and improvements.
PS3 controller (sixaxis) has a motion control - you move controller - game responds. Wii has it, Xbox 360 - doesn't. PS3 controller is getting vibrocontroller soon (Dualshock 3).
On PS3 you can help sick people by running Folding Home project. Wii and Xbox 360 didn't even think about it.
New 40GB is coming with a lower prive between around 400$ and 400 euros (depends on the region).
I didn't mention Wii, because it's so weak, no point to talk about it. Leave it for kindergarten and casual games.
