now: xbox 360
2008: ps3 because the developers are not used to the system yet
here are some reasons why ps3 is better
- ps3 has a built-in blu-ray player
- ps3 has much more and better exclusives, most of them cant go to xbox 360 because it cant handle that many data(DVD- 8.5gb, blu-ray 50gb)
- online is free for ps3 not like 360
- ps3 will have over 300 games released by this spring
- when developers get used to the system, the graphics will be WAY better than 360. should take them a year to get used to it
- playstation home is coming out this spring, its a virtual community where you can hang out with friends and customize your own apartment which xbox doesnt have(FREE)
- ps3 is a true HD console. xbox 360 upscale games to 1080p and ps3 DISPLAY games up to 1080p
- built in Wi-Fi
- xbox 360: 33% hardware failure
ps3: .2% hardware failure(see the decimal? less than 1%!)
- rumble returns in spring 2008
- you can upgrade your harddrive without voiding warranties with any 2.5 HDD, which xbox cant because you have to buy a xbox HDD
(they actually have the step by step on how to upgrade it on playstation.com)
those are the ones that i know right off my mind but there are much more reason than this
Prices as of today:
ps3- 80gb: $599
60gb: $499
xbox 360(premium)- $399 (if you want the accessories that ps3 comes with, that would add up to over 700 dollars)

it depends on the game developers. As of right now 360 has better graphics only because game developers has had time to play with the console but at E3 alot of game developers were excited with the space cability that the ps3 was going to be able to offer compare to the 360. Alot of game developers only said they were excited to try new thing for the ps3, but wouldn't say that it was going to do more graphics on the ps3 because they didn't want to lose their contract with 360....so as of right now 360 because it has a year up on the ps3.

in all reality it depends on the game. But both systems are 1080p compatible. So it means they generally have the same graphics. just depends on the game and what resolution it displays at. some games are 720p and some are 1080i and some are 1080p(listed from lower to higher graphics, so i dont get to techy) its not fare to say PS3 is better or 360 is better. But i will say that Blu-ray is better than HD-DVD. so i hope this helps

It depends on the game for example Call of Duty 3 looked better on Xbox 360 than PS3 but im sure GTA:IV will look better on PS3 since it was there original exclusive.

PS3 thats the main reason its so much more expensive than the 360 plus it also kinda depends on what you like, the 360 is all about shooter games while the PS3 has more variety

If you want to see true difference - don't look at multiplatform games. Look at exclusives. PS3 games Genji, Heavenly Sword and Resistance - FOM have much better graphics, than 360. I can give you tech talk, but instead check those trailers out - you'll understand, what I'm talking about:

PS3 is true 1080i, Xbox is not it is 720 split. PS3 has FREE online, X-Box does not. relies upon what interest perfect photos are considered on PS3 yet it really is for that is exclusives the multiplatform video games on PS3 have only somewhat worse photos yet i don't think of that is extremely something major possibly PS3

right now 360 but in about half year ps3 all the way in every catogory
i have a ps3 you want a ps3 trust me it is worh every penny and will basicly pay for its self

the ps3 has better hardware but it's a lot harder to make good graphics on the ps3 where the 360 is easyer because it has more easyer hardware
