I say the PS3. Everyone who has one likes it and its going to have tons of games oon. When the Xbox 360 came out is barely had any games and I remember going about to get one when it first came out but didnt because it had very few games. In about a month or two, the PS3 will be prices at 399-499 and is going to have a lot of games.

The PS3 is also a lot stronger. It costa about 700 dollars for sony to make them and they sell them for about 500 to make money off the market share. PS3 live is free. It has better graphics and is soon oly going to be 50 dollars more for a 40GB PS3 selling for 400 dollars and a 20GB Xbox 360 selling at 350. A lot of the most popular games out for the Xbox 360 are also for the PS3. Like need for speed, Rainbow 6, call of duty and tons more. The PS3 also lasts a lot longer. And looks better. Its all metal. The Xbox is plastic and the inside is junk. It looks like a PC and freezes a lot.

The PS3 also has motion sensor. So at the end I think you should get the PS3. Sonys good at these things and havnt failed before. I have one and its great. Enjoy.

PS3 is better for these reasons:
More features that cost more to get on the 360 like blu ray, wifi, free online and the ps3 has flash card readers.
The PS3 is alot more reliable than the 360 because the 360 overheats very easily
360 does have more games out now but that is only because it has been out a year longer than the ps3

i use this for all questions like this, so it may not suit your question perfectly and be a bit dated, but...

this is all my opinion, so...

the 360 doens't have too many games that appeal to me that are exclusives. Dead Rising i didn't really care for; Halo never a big fan, seemed like an average shooter game to me; Mass Effect seems kinda cool, but it's not a game that makes me wanna run out and buy for my brothers 360; Gears of War is the only game i really liked, but it was kinda short and, to me, doesn't really have much replay value and the hardest mode was pretty cool. All the multiplatform games are really the only games that i look forward to on that system.

PS3 has the exclusives that appeal to me; such as, Lair, Killzone 2, FFXIII and Versus, MGS, White Knight Story, Warhawk, Kingdom Hearts III, GOW III, and Heavenly Sword are a couple. The multiplatfrom games are cool Assassins Creed, Call to Duty 4, Army of Two, Kane & Lynch, DMC 3, The Last Remnants and a few others are cool and I will get those for my ps3. Plus it can play all my other ps games, so I can finish playing those as those games come out.

All this is completely my opinion, so this only appeals to people with similiar taste in games and genres.

So to answer your question the 360 is better right now since it has a good sized amount of available games, while the ps3 only a has a few. But the future games to come out will be much better for sony, since the games that are coming soon are the big dogs for that console. As for graphics, most multiplatform games tend to look better on the 360 and it's kinda obvious since the 360 has been out longer than the PS3 so companies are familiar with that system. So for sony to get games that look better (Lair) than the majority of other 360 games now is pretty good, plus it's a more advanced system with blu-ray discs that hold more data. The online community i don't really care for, so xbox live and home don't really matter to me. if you do like that, then you get free internet with sony. the ps3 remote will be getting the rumble feature back also

The only reason the PS3 cost more is because it comes with Bluray capabilities and the Cell processor, which is completely unnecessary. The Xbox 360 is better because of Halo 3. I know Halo 3 is the last Halo game, but I heard that Bungie will eventually make more shooter games like Halo. So everything should work out fine for the Xbox. Except for Metal Gear Solid 4, there is not one single PS3 game that interests me.

The Playstation 3 for many reasons.

*Cell Processor- The cell processor is an extremely powerful micro processor built of 8 processors (PPE's) and one PPE. This processor is built for extreme amounts of processing and is very useful for multi tasking through artificial intelligence, physics, lighting navigation, etc- The Xbox 360 has a 3 core xenos CPU, which is fine for general processing (ie. an OS) but in raw processing (as in anything) the PS3 is twice as powerful as the 360 due to it's intricate design.

*RSX GPU- The RSX is a powerful GPU which is specialized to work with the cell processor to render DX10 like graphics by pooling it's RAM.

*Blu Ray- The next generation disc medium which can store up to 50GB (100GB in experimental models) The extra space allows game developers to make large responsive environments, complex artificial intelegance, HD video and audio, etc. without compression.- The xbox 360 can only use DVD for games, which can hold up to 8.5GB, which is outdated for game use.

*Other operating systems- The ps3 can get different operating systems installed, such as Linux, allowing it to be an alternative computer, and you can install many diferent programs.- The 360 cannot do this.

*Web browser- The ps3 has a decent web browser, which you can go to many different web sites with, it does have basic flash updates, but it does need to be improved upon, including in java, though this can be fixed easily via a firmware upgrade. Many popular sites like myspace and youtube are accessable though.- The 360 Does NOT have this

*Play TV- Pretty much Tivo for your ps3, a tuner that you can record things with. Though it has only been announced to launch in Europe so far.

*Interchangeable hard drive- This pretty much means you can change the size of your hard drive with any hard drive so you can store more things.- You have to buy a MS HDD for a 360, which are very over priced.

*Built in wifi- With the xbox 360 you have to buy a wifi adapter for $100, this comes standard in the PS3.

*Free Online- For the xbox 360 you have to pay $50 a year.

*Playstation Home- Playstation home is an interactive community of ps3 users where you can play games or meet up with friends and hang out at your virtual home and hang outs, as well as stream live media(releasing early 08, and is FREE)

* Games- Many games are coming to the ps3 soon, such as Warhawk, heavenly sword, lair, ratchet and clank, Uncharted, Haze, Unreal tournament 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy XIII, White Knight Story, LittleBigPlanet, Heavy Rain, Gran Turismo 5 etc. Over 300 games will be released by next spring.

i have a PS3 and my brother has an Xbox 360. For the online gaming experience you dont have very many little kids in you ear talking ****. Mostly it is all adults and makes for a better gaming experince. The ps3 has a little more to the setting screen. for a head set i know you can use your phones blue tooth. the ps can reg any blue tooth that is 2.0. The thing i think its mostly going to come down to is game speific platforms. I.E. Halo or Grand Theft Auto, Grand Turismo. I have had only one problem with my PS3 and that was after a 14 hour session of Tiger Woods Online. THe ps kicked off and overheated. But that is the only thing. My brother Xbox crashed and he had to send it off for warrenty work. He was out of gaming for 2 weeks. Sucked for him. More than anything i think its going to come down to personaly prefrence THe ps hooked to online can be updated by sony when new ones come avavailable. Mine has been updated 3 times since i got it. and online is FREE

1st - PS3 has Blu-Ray which can play movies and game developers can make longer and better games do to the Blu_ray disc capability. Regular dvd's hold 10gb of storage, HD hold 30gb, but Blu-Ray hold 50gb.
2nd - PS3 has awesome games coming out now...Heavenly Sword, Lair, Folklore, etc...
3rd - Online play is FREE
4th - I know Microsoft has had laser problems and are spending millions to have them fixed...I wouldn't even take the chance at having that happen to me.
5th - Go to PS3.com and do some reading...I am sure you will like what you see.

I would go with the 360 because, the ps3 because the ps3 already got re-called because they were all breaking and having malfunctions and that they didn't work, i wouldn't trust a ps3
