I am looking to buy a Canon digital camera. I realize that there are many different models. I was wondering if the later models, or the ones with higher numbers (ex. SD1000 & SD850) are better than the others. Also, I am looking for very good image quality, reletivley small sized,at least 7 mega
pixels, and the option to enlarge pictures without them losing their quality. Which Canon model do you think I would be best off buying?

I just bought second hand a Canon A540 Digital Camera on Ebay... I was told that the lens stuck out, but that didn't affect the camera's ability to work. I called Canon and they tell me to send it in to them without saying how much it could end up costing. Is there a simple fix to this, or do I need to file a complaint with Ebay for getting a broken camera??

I have a canon ixus and tried to use the "zoom browser" to change the names of the files because it defaults to date which is rubbish - but I can't get it to change anything. I am getting angrier and angrier. Please help a desperate woman.

I've always had SLRs (right now, I have a Cannon Rebel 2000). My main reason for taking photos is to see if I can capture the beauty of the subject with an interesting composition and I'm very excited when I feel like I've taken a good photo. I'm ready to move to digital and am trying to decide between an SLR and a point and shoot. I'll probably get an SLR because I'm used to the quality and control. I don't always use all the features, but I do like to switch to manual focus, turn off the flash, use a macro setting, etc. However, it would also be really nice to finally have a light camera small enough to fit into my purse for spontaneous social situations. I also like the idea of a powerful zoom. Have the non-SLR digital cameras gotten to the place where the picture quality is comparable to SLRs and the flexibility while shooting is similar? Ultimately, quality pictures is more important than convenience to me, but I don't want to discount non-SLRs if there are ones that I might like.

I had an olympus (FE-100). One day while trying to juggle with an armload of misc. I regretably decided to go ahead and drop my camera, along with a few others, into the KFC bag I was bringing my b/f on break. As luck would have it, green bean juice spilled out from those quality carry-out containers and invaded my camera. I turned it on to see if it still worked after I had cleaned up the juice and it did, for a second, and then went dark. The lense is stuck out and I havn't been able to get it working since. It's not exactly a high end model camera so I think I would feel silly taking it to a specialized camera shop where the repair price would exceed the value.
Maybe it wouldn't?
Maybe there is an alternative to try?
Maybe this has happened to you...?

What kind of camera should I be looking into. I'm not gonna be diving more than 60 feet. I want something that takes pictures, video is an option. Something affordable. UNder $400. If you have any experience with underwater cameras, please let me know. I currently have a Canon SD 400 and I can get a case for it but I don't know if that messes with the quality of the images. Any information will be helpful.

I dropped my Sony DSC-T1 last night and now the flash will not work. I'm assuming I broke the internal bulb. Where can I get it repaired and about how much will it cost me? I'm going to an Aerosmith concert in Chicago next month so I need my camera badly. Thanks. :(

Must use 'AA' batteries and small enough to fit inside ammo pouch. Video and audio would be a plus.

My main area of intrest is taking action shots and sports photos. Can anyone help or give me some suggestions to what I should be looking at? I'm planning to buy, but I don't have an unlimited amount of funds, if you know what I mean. As a matter of fact, I'm kind of strapped. Any suggestions on the best deal with greatest performance?

I am a betta breeder. A big part of the success of my hobby business is to be able to take clear pictures of my small fish. As of now, my photography is sub-par, so the fish aren't selling well. It's time for an upgrade!

I am looking for a camera that has the capabilities to take CLEAR, macro pictures of MOVING fish that are about 1 inch long. I am assuming that because of that, the camera needs a fast shutter speed so that the fish don't show up as a colored blur in the photos. I want to stay in the $400-$500 range, and I am not sure that I want to get into SLRs, just because of the money issue.

Can anyone find me a good camera!?!?!

Thank you!

I am also wondering if I should get another estimate, or is it possible to order a part and repair it myself? I've done that with an appliance & saved a bunch of bucks. Sure do hate throwing it away.

I've searched all over the web and read countless pages on exposure, but I still don't understand it. I know that +2 +1 attracts more brightness, 0 has no exposure, and -1 -2 attracts more shadow. What I don't understand is why my digital camera on PASM mode wants me to have an exposure of +1 or +2 when working in well lit studio conditions. I have tried it at 0 exposure, and the picture is horribly dark when in reality it is not. When at +1 or +2 EV It sets the aperture to around 2.8 or 4, and a 1/30 shutter speed, as well as using an 80 ISO. My understanding is that in portraits, what I'm photographing, the exposure should be set to 0. But on my digital, 0 does a terrible job, and sometimes even +1 and +2 don't seem like enough exposure. Why is this?

I'm going to try out a 35mm Minolta X-700 SLR on Aperture Priority mode, and I want to make sure that I'm not setting the exposure too low at 0, because my digital camera says I am.

Help! Thanks!

The one I got last Christmas died ... for no reason!

It was a:
Fuji finepix a700

I need something easy & foolproof, and I liked the one I had .. except for the fact that it crapped out.

I'm also poor.

Any favorites?
