Cameras - March 2007

I have now bought 5 diff digital cameras and each time I buy one I specifically ask for one that is good with action pictures...Apparently the employees do not know cameras because everytime I try to take pictures of sporting events, the pictures come out very very blurry. I Dont want to buy an SLR but I heard that there are advanced point and shoot digital cameras? Anyone OWN one of these types of cameras and have used them at sporting events that could tell me what brand/model/quality of action shots?

If anyone wanted to email me an example of an action shot they took with their camera just so the quality myself, that would be awesome.

I have been awnting to get a SLR digital camera and this is one of my options. I was woundering if it was a good one and if it is why? and if it is what other ones should I get. Also is the K2 digital of film? Thanks

Thanks to the help of Dr. Sam and Koko I have finally purchased the Nikon D80. I wanted to know though, why is it that almost every single professional uses Canon when all you hear about is how Nikon is better. I see photojournalists, sports photographers, and many other people. My uncle is a Canon fanatic x100. I especially see the photographers that photograph models on the beach use only Canon.

How can I take prettier pictures,I always look really bad,and I'm a pretty girl,but the pictures dont show that AT ALL! I have a really special person that wants to see what I look like,but he lives many miles away,and that only leaves taking pictures as an option.I dont want to send him bad pictures of myself,but I just cant seem to take good ones.Anyone know a quick tip to make me look decent in pictures?

I have a Vivitar 5386 camera. 5.0 mega pixels. 2.5 LCD Monitor. 3x Optical zoom. The problem is it shut off and will not turn on. The zoom went from all the way out to partially sticking out in stuck mode. (As in it's stuck) can somebody give me some home repair tips.

I have a Sony Cyber Shot 5.1mega pixel Smart Zoom DSC-P93A Camera, and I've been having real issues with its flash.
Sometimes the flash just won't go on, and when it does its totally off sync with the camera, or its just way too bright. So it either has a slow reaction and the flash is really for nothing or it's way to strong and it makes the picture come out purely white.
Please if you know the problem, let me know.
If you know... Can i get this fixed?!?!?
Is this a fixable problem? :)

i had installed my cctv for monitoring. but after installation my cctv camera show rolling picture wavy and some other camera like low signal so it show some blur picture.
please help me to solve this problem.
i had use signal amplified but it still same.

I have a casio exilim ex z750, I have been using it for three months. Suddenly today a small grey spot came on the snaps.
When i zoom the cam the spot becomes more visible.When I use the digi zoom the spot goes lower and it then disappears.
What is the prob?????? how can I fix it?????

I Just bought the Panasonic FX07 (7.1mp) and so far I am very please with it. I just have one question... my other camera - the Canon S1 IS (3.2mp) takes pictures at 180dpi, and my new Panasonic which has 4 more megapixels takes pictures at only 72 dpi.

Is this a problem? What difference will I notice (because I’m having a hard time finding one now)

I found this out by looking at the advanced properties of the pictures from each camera.

i have a problem, i installed the Sony Cybershot cd and everything and i uploaded 2 of the pics from the camera to my computer through a SanDisk RapidGX memory stick pro duo, and i tried putting pics on my comp again a few minsutes later and it didnt work, i plugged in the USB and everything, there was no reaction on my comp, i tried everything, anyone know what the hell could be wrong¿
