About how much would you pay for a digital camera?

i want to buy a new digital camera but i'm not sure what is a good price/quality

Well, I just paid $400 for a prosumer model, Canon Powershot S3 IS. However, if you are a novice photographer and mostly just want to take good snapshots and vacation photo's and things like that, you can get a good quality point and shoot camera for $200-250. Yes, you can get them cheaper, just do you resear5ch and make sure you are getting what you want.

For a compact digital camera- most are in the $200 to $300 range. A few of the best are over $300, and there are not too many under $200 that are not lacking in something.

It all depends on how picky you are. The best image quality for the price is probably the Fuji F20 which can be had for ~$155 plus xD card.

You should look at optical more then price. I got the Sony Cybershot. It cost about 550 but it's a great camera. A bit complicated and I'm still figuring it out. But it's good. Try to go with a 10x optical zoom at least.

i recommend going to a consumer reporting site...cnet.com is good and the one i went to before i bought my wife a canon s3is. do some research, and they'll be able to give you an idea of what cameras have what you are looking for and for what price.

Nikon is a great brand to use. I go tmine for around $200 or $300 dollars (my dad order it online) and love it.

I have one by kodak with the portable printing dock, it's awesome. It cost a little over 300 bucks!!!
