I have seen an advertisement on ebay for a SVP XThinn-12ZX camera, but have heard that there are a lot of scammers also. IT claims to have 12 MP interpolated resolution power. I am buying it for 100.00. Is it a good buy?

Hi,

Ken Rockwell is a guy who poses as a camera expert and has his own site named after him.

He is the laughing stock of serious photographers, but for some reason he seems to be getting a lot of traffic in his site from amateurs who like his style of writing.

Here are some thoughts on him from another photographer, I think this hit the nail right on the head!

a bright light or something to help take pictures in dark settings. i.e. concerts, clubs, bars.
here is the problem. i've had a few digital cameras, and when i'm trying to take a picture in a dark place, its next to impossible to see the people you are taking a picture of and you basically have to guess if you are aiming correctly and then take the picture.
Any advice?????????

I'm buying a new digital camera, and I really like the HP Photosmart R725. It's totally affordable, and the suggested memory cards to purchase with it look just like a standard SD card. I have a bunch of SD cards already...will they be compatible?

Im not a professional photographer but I would like a camera that is of an excellent quality. In other words I want something thats user friendly yet with high tech options for the amateur.

I currently own an apple computer laptop so it needs to be compatible with that.

The types of pictures I will be taking will be ranging from casual to artistic. Inside and outdoors!

So far I kind of like the cameras with the large viewing screens. I think I've even seen some where you can flip the screen (so you can view yourself) without guessing if the camera is pointing in the right direction (to take your own picture).

I dont want to spend $1,000 bucks on this thing! Any idea or links offered would be great.

I am in New York city and I have a digital camera.. an old low budget model at that.
Have any of you heard of AOSTA camera's?
I'll be shocked if you have.
The model number is DC4310.
Anyway I need a USB cord because the camera shuts off when it is operated by batteries alone.
I also need to fix the zoom lens because it sticks out even when the camera is off. It did that before but it went back in, but recently when I turned the camera on, it pushed out and did not go back in this time.
Does anyone know just how much this will cost?
for the USB cord and to fix the zoom lens.
or should I just buy a new camera?

If you are one of the people that feels I should buy a new camera give me some brands and models that you recommend. Please, reasonably priced ones only.
