I've got a good one from M&S (if you're in the UK) it's the Samsung A503 - it was £79 then around £40 for the memory card. However, I've noticed Tesco are selling it for just over £60. It's an easy to use camera and I'm impressed with it and got one for my parents who think it's brilliant. It's not at all complicated - although I'm not an expert I'm very happy with it.

The best-organized site I've found for camera comparison information, specs, and reviews is http://www.dpreview.com.

You can either use their Buying Guide/Features Search to try and find what you want, or find some locally available that seem nice to you and then check to see what DPreview has to say about that model.

The other suggestion is to buy a used one. As fast as the models come out they get overrun by some new model. There's a big turnover in digital cameras; lots of used or overstock cameras are available from places like eBay.

Somerfields are doing a special on Lumicron 6.3MPixels cameras at the moment with a free 32MB SD card (check the pack to make sure you get one before you leave the store). £50.
