What should I look for? I want something simple to use for around £200-£250 that takes good quality pictures but its just for general use so there's no need for it to be fantastic. Any ideas what I should look out for? Can anyone recommend something?

Hi! I got a digital camera for Christmas. I haven't used it a whole hell of a lot since and already the batteries are dead. If I leave it off for a few hours, it will work but only for five minutes or so. I read the camera's manuel and it said that the camera inaccurately reads alkaline batteries. I have found a couple different brands of batteries laying around the house, but they are all alkaline batteries. Are there any brands that sell non-alkaline batteries? Has anyone had similar problems with their digital cameras? Thanks for your help.

I have a family trip coming up this weekend and am in need of a new digital camera. But I am having a real hard time choosing from the "Canon Powershot SD800 IS" and "Sony Cybershot DSC-M2". It would be great listening from whom experienced of the cameras (feedbacks). All suggestions are greatly appreciated and much thanks!

I really want to purchase a Digital SLR camera. But tonight while looking at them, they salesman said that I can only look through the viewfinder when taking a picture...NOT the LCD screen. That sucks because I want the quality and special effects of a DSLR, but I would also like to take pictures while looking through the LCD screen. It's hard for me to see the thing I'm taking a picture of through the viewfinder *because of my vision problem*. Any DSLR's that I can use the LCD screen while taking a picture!???!

Is that true for all digital cameras? I have an HP Photosmart R818. I am not too familiar with digitas cameras. HP needs a longer exposure time if the flash is turned off, and the image is blurry most of the times.

Looking at digital cameras I get confused about megapixels versus picture quality. I have noticed that taking smaller pics uses less pixels (ie. 640 x 480 = .3M = 4 x 6 in. pic). Taking larger pics uses more pixels. I find that the ratio of pixels stays the same when changing the size which makes me think that all the pics of different sizes will have the same quality. Of course, I realize that having a higher megapixel rated camera allows you to take those larger pics. So if someone is satisfied with taking 4 x 6 prints those expensive 6 megapixel cameras aren't really worth it (everything else being equal like zoom or other goodies). Now, if someone were to double the size of a pic (after taking the pic) does so without increasing the pixel count and make the pic look worse, will halving the size keeping the same pixel count make it look better by incresing the pixel density? Please reply to all my comments. Thanks.

My perception is that orbs are caused by IR energy, maybe a ghost, maybe a dust particle, but it ruins my pictures.

My camera is about 3 years old (gateway dc-t50), and when the original battery started going last year, it very subtly started losing its charge faster. I have had this battery for a year, and regardless of whether the camera is on or not, it loses its charge FULLY in about 10 minutes after I unlug it from a power source. Is it just a dud battery, or is there something wrong with the camera?

I was really excited to test out my camera yesterday at a nightclub. I was celebrating New Years and I brought the camera out and took a couple of pictures. To my surprise the pictures didn't not come out too good. Everytime I hit the shutter button I crossed my fingers in hopes the pictures would come out clearly and they did not. I switched the settings several times and the pictures were awful. I had to do major editing in order to see the pictures clearly even then the pics didn't look right. My old Kodak camera 5.0 megapixel took better pictures. I think I'm going to go back to that one. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to take better pictures with this camera?
