I need something less than $1000 prefer digital for my hobby pursuits + Ebay sales. I know $1000 isn't much to work with but I need the best I can get for around that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

6X optical zoom, image stabilization, LCD / video resolution and ability to shoot in manual mode, although I am a novice when it comes to this, is important to me. Also, I don't want too large a camera. The Canon S3, as an example is too large in my opinion.

I tried the A640 an although you get great pictures in good lighting situations I notice degradation in low light and zoom shots. My thinking is that image stabilization will help somewhat...

I am going to use this cameras more for Study, but I already have a good SLR 35film base, so, for me, more manual controls, better! Maybe I will not buy lens in the future, thats why i put non DSLR too. Remember, I prefer more manual controls and more film than digital look. I will only give BEST ANSWER someone that justify the answer

We are wanting to buy a digital camera and the only thing we know is that you want at least 5 megapixels. As far as features go, we know we want a decent zoom package. Can any of you offer any suggestions or advice on what to look for in digital cameras? We would appreciate it!!!

A friend of a friend is selling his old Canon T90 in good condition with a "50mm f1.4 normal lens", for a super-low price.
I hardly know anything about photography, and am not planning a career or anything serious in it, but I'm interested in learning. Problem is, I can't decide whether to go for this T90 or not.

I've heard the T90 is a great camera. But can I use it as a total beginner, and then "grow" with it? Or is the T90 simply too complex (i.e. I won't have a clue how to start)?

I purchased off of ebay about 4 months ago a slightly used vivitar vivicam 3935 digital camera retail 300 dollars on amazon.com and target.
Sadly after a short time of using it the flash works but then stops working. In the menu flash is on and nothing happens it takes the picture with no flash.
Unfortunately for me i purchased it used so i have no way to get the camera serviced by the company of vivitar.
Also i tried calling camera shops in my area and they dont repair vivitar cameras.
any ideas on what i can do?
i am pretty sure its the circuitry inside the camera such as the flash bulb could be burnt out already.
I am using brand new crv3 battery too which are pricey.
i dont want to throw in the towel on this nice camera just yet
any suggestions welcome.

I bought this camera for Christmas and I have only taken about 27 pictures and it's telling me the memory is full. I know this camera should hold more pics than that. What am I doing or not doing?
