There are lots of online stores to choose from.
I recently bought my Dad a Canon with 5MP for £95 from Amazon - you could do worse than get the same, though the price has gone up a couple of pounds (see link below).
Others from Amazon I'd consider would be the Sony DSC-500 (£99); Olympus FE-170 (£85 - I have an Olympus compact and am very happy with it); Pentax Optio E20 (£90) or Fuji F460 (£90). However, note that of these only the Sony and Pentax - plus the Canon above - has an optical viewfinder, which will save battery life considerably.
---
NB: You don't need 6MP.
First of all, the difference in terms of detail size between 6MP and 5MP is less than 10%, and not visible to the untrained eye on standard 6x4 or 5x7 prints. I make 6x9 prints from my 4MP camera and they look great.
Secondly, the more pixels they squeeze on the detectors, the more noise they generate - so a 6MP picture isn't even 10% better than a 5MP one. There's much more difference in optical quality between one make and another.
NB2: An advantage of the Canon is it offers 4x optical zoom (only ever look at optical zoom, ignore digital zoom), whereas the standard is 3x.

if u are not a professional photographer and are looking at a digital camera for day to day domestic use.... look for few things before u make a purchase.
1. Optical Zoom/Digital Zoom. optical one zooms the image by physically moving the lens. digital blows the image with the help of a software.
2. Megapixels will give you the largest size you can print. assuming you dont want to print a hoarding, a 4 megapix is just enough for clarity. u get a print larger than an A4. beyond 4 MP, all combinations will give you same picture quality in a small print.
3. look for several options like digital filters, movie mode, u may or may not get a view finder in latest models, offers like free battery charger or a sd card.
i am using pentax s40 but its an outdated model now. if u find it please think about it. being am old model, its cheap as well.
i helped my friend in buying canon A430.

I would pick one that you like, then use www.pricerunner.co.ok or www.kelkoo.co.uk. They will find the cheapest price for you.
I bought a Sony dcs-p12 this way.
It was £530.00 in Dixons at the time (3 years ago - they were a lot more expensive then), and using Kelkoo, I got it for £320.00 - a hell of a saving.
