Oh that really sucks. I think you need to get a card reader and connect it to your computer and then find a program that will read corrupted cards. I use PC Inspector which is freeware obtainable from www.convar.com. Alternatively there are companies which will do the job for you, but that will cost.

One further comment. You refer to there being 400 pics on your card. Were they all taken on one occasion? Or are you using your card to store your pictures? If the latter, may I advise against it, for just the reason you now experience. Download them to your computer after every shoot and back them up to disc or another hard drive/

Sounds like good old Walmarts machine corrupted your Card while you were uploading your pics. I would ask them if they have an IMAGE RECOVERY service for Corrupted digital memory cards, if they do not provide this service themselves,
you might try going into a CAMERA STORE. I know we provide image recovery services starting at around $60, we are usually able to recover the lost images and burn them onto a CD for the customer. If Walmart does not provide image recovery, see if they will reimburse you for the service if you have it done elsewhere. After you get the issue resolved, you should be able to reformat your card and start using it regularly again.

Your memory card is probably large enough, however it's not fast enough to keep up with your camera.
