I replaced the battery in my digital camera last yr but it has stopped holding a charge, is it the battery?

My camera is about 3 years old (gateway dc-t50), and when the original battery started going last year, it very subtly started losing its charge faster. I have had this battery for a year, and regardless of whether the camera is on or not, it loses its charge FULLY in about 10 minutes after I unlug it from a power source. Is it just a dud battery, or is there something wrong with the camera?

My guess you need a new battery.Some will let you take around 150 shots, others 400 and more. Some cameras eat up the battery real quick. A lot depends on how many pictures you took.
