Every time i play windows media player the computer locks up after a half hour of playing, also when it does play it sounds like a disc is skipping but no disk is in the drive it is all on the hard drive, and when i move the music it does not skip on any other computer, is the sound board bad ?

i went away to college, and they have you install security programs on your computer. While i was at school i had to install a bunch of other things as well, i downloaded aim, and stuff like that so i could talk to my friends, adobe reader, and things like that. now im at home, and i wanted to uninstall everything that i dont use becuase my desktop looked like a mess. so i did. its currently not hooked up to any internet or anything. ever since i did that, every time i try to log on, or try to click on anything, it starts to load, but just ends up looking stuck and a blurry picture. Also the monitor goes on and off all the time! everytime i try to click on something it does that also. sometimes it will go into sleep mode and even if i move the mouse it doesnt wake up! one time a blue screen came up and was like "if this is the first time seeing this message, restart the computer. if its not do the following." its a dell and windows, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

ok this is a pain i have windows vista and everything is small taskbar menu font on web pages everything how do i fix this?? i tryed the adjust font size dpi all that did was make the desktop icons bigger which is nice they are normal size now am i missing a setting somewhere i went through prosonalization already and nadda.

I know how to set a certain font and size as default, but I also want to be able to alter the spaces between each lines... which I know how to change... but is there anyway that we can set this as default??

All of the users on our network can access the Access 2000 DB on the server, except for one person who keeps getting the above error, "File could not be locked".

I can also use his ID from a different PC and log in successfully.

The databased is set to "shared", not "exclusive".

He had no problems originally accessing the DB until the day that I had to
repair his Office installation to fix a problem he was having with Outlook.

I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling office, with no success.

Is there some autoexec file or coding that I can use to make my home videos run whenever they are put into a PC or DVD player. The fromat is .avi. I would like to make movies of my video clips I make and give them away to friends and family as gifts. Who wants something that you have difficulty with finding out whats on it. I love Firefox but I need help with an extension. It's called download helper. It downloads vids from sites like youtube..ect.
I'm not a computer genius so don't laugh but do you need a special media player to play these? I have never done this so I am totally lost. When I attempt to play the vids, nothing ever happens.

Currently, all that prints is a solid coloured block where the gradient should be. Gradient made with autoshapes + custom colour fill.

I have a new HP Pavilion laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium. I downloaded Windows Mobile Device Center so I could sync the my contacts list and calendar on my Samsung BlackJack with Outlook 2003. It will sync my contact, but not my email, tax list or calendar. Outlook keeps crashing and the sync process will not complete.

I went into add remove programs and uninstalled iexplorer.exe but it's still in ProgramFiles/internet explorer. So I deleted it but it keeps coming back. Where does it come from? It's extracting a copy of itself from somewhere and putting itself there. I want it gone. If I remove all entries from the registry will that work? There is a process or service running that acts like a virus in that it replaces the file as soon as I delete it. I don't want to pay for any tools that will remove it. I'm a Linux user myself but a few of my customers are too stubrn to change.

I set my password protect screensaver for 2 minutes. Now I don't want to have the screensaver on anymore, and I tried to redo it like 10 times, but it still cuts off after 2 minutes. Every time I go back to the control panel, it still says it's set for two minutes...I'm obviously doing something wrong...Oh yeah and I am hitting "apply" first. My operating system is XP
