i went away to college, and they have you install security programs on your computer. While i was at school i had to install a bunch of other things as well, i downloaded aim, and stuff like that so i could talk to my friends, adobe reader, and things like that. now im at home, and i wanted to uninstall everything that i dont use becuase my desktop looked like a mess. so i did. its currently not hooked up to any internet or anything. ever since i did that, every time i try to log on, or try to click on anything, it starts to load, but just ends up looking stuck and a blurry picture. Also the monitor goes on and off all the time! everytime i try to click on something it does that also. sometimes it will go into sleep mode and even if i move the mouse it doesnt wake up! one time a blue screen came up and was like "if this is the first time seeing this message, restart the computer. if its not do the following." its a dell and windows, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Back up your data and reinstall Windows from the CD that should have come with your laptop. Sounds like you removed some things you shouldn't have. While it might be possible to figure them all out, and reinstall them, it probably would take a lot more time and effort.

Plus, anything you make as many changes as it sounds like you did to that computer, a fresh install is a good idea. I recommend to my customers that they should do it about once a year.

Well 'b', for starters if you want to get it right, you should do a 'clean' install of windows (formated or destructive) and get it cleaned up that way. It sounds like you've got a bowl of spagetti for applications and no telling what or where the folders went to; so the easiest way is the re-do.
Windows is bad enuff even without the bells and whistles, so get back to ground level.
Install only lightweight applications (avoid Mcaffee & norton) for anti-v; like avast! (free) or my favorite 'BLINK' (only $25 for THE best home suite).
use 'crap cleaner' often; and do back ups of your work every 45 days, and get security aware by listening to Steve Gibson @ grc.com/security now.

You have removed a critical system program. Try re-installing by booting from the OS cd, at the first prompt select install, at the second select the R repair option. This should get you running again, but you will possibly need to re-install your harware drivers.

uninstalling pgms will never give u such a problem. u may have uninstalled some of ur drivers. Try to run on safe mode, check on device manager if any device have yellow mark, then install drivers for that device.
