There's a bunch of junk that starts up automatically when I start up my computer and some of the things are hidden working in the background. How can I go about changing this? Thanks!

By the way, does it remove the stuff only of my user side or will it remove it off the other user of this computer (my dad, who gets on like twice a month and doesn't really care)?

Oh and if I disabled them from starting up automatically on startup, will it still work when I click on the program myself to start it up? Like I disabled a webcam icon from popping up, will the webcam program work next time I click on it?

Startup Control Panel is a good, easy, and safe way to modify startup programs. i've used it on many computers. its a freeware program that checks 5 different areas that contain startup entries.
http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml

and if you don't know what an entry is, be sure search for it online.

in response to your added details: the tabs that will affect all users are "Startup (common)" and "HKLM / Run". the tabs that affect just your user account are "Startup (user)" and "HKCU / Run". you shouldn't have to worry about the "Run Once" tab.

2nd added details: yes the programs will still work when manually opened if they're disabled through Startup Control Panel or the Startup tab in msconfig. if they're disabled through the Services tab in msconfig i dont think they will. if you really need to disable services i would use services.msc (go to Start > Run > type services.msc) and right click on the service you dont want starting up, go to Properties, change Startup type from Automatic to Manual.

1.Go to Start > Run and type msconfig. In the new window, open the Startup tab and disable everything that's unnecessary. It's recommended that you remove everything except your firewall and the real time shields of your anti-virus and anti-spyware.

2.To clean your computer of junk files, you may use any/all of these free cleaning tools -
CCleaner : http://ccleaner.com/
Advanced Windows Care Personal : http://iobit.com/
Glary Utilities : http://glaryutilities.com/

3.Scan your computer with your anti-spyware (update it first) to remove hidden spyware from your computer. If you don't have an anti-spyware, you may get the free Windows Defender from

Start
Settings
Taskbar and Start Menu
cl Start Menu tab
select a program to remove from the Start Menu
cl Remove

Careful here - if in doubt, leave it alone. You don't want to remove any system files.
