I have just retired from work. I created a fairly complicated spreadsheet there, using QuattroPro 9. I want to continue working with this at home, where I only have version 8 of the Corel Package. I had forgotten to save this document in version 8 format. I brought it home on a stiffy along with a WordPerfect 9 document. The WP 9 doc opened perfectly in version 8, but I cannot open the version 9 QP doc. Any suggestions. I have tried Adobe acrobat but that didn't help.

It is said that I can get free MS Word (old) through a site with activation key. The file will be downloaded to my Share folder and then I have to copy this file in a CD to use it in my system. Is it like buying a software from a shop and loading it in the computer?

I recently had a problem with my windows media player 11 (when I clicked on it it said "An internal application error has occurred") So I reinstalled it and now when I try and open it nothing happens.

I've pressed CTRL+ALT+DEL to see if it was running and I don't think it was, I've also tried opening it from the start menu and the toolbar at the bottom. Nothing seems to happen :-(

Thanks to anyone that helps = ]

PS. I have restarted my computer since btw.

I have a pentium 4 processor, Windows XP, 256 MB RAM and 20 Gig hard drive. I have a fast dial-up connection. I've just had the XP installed and everything seems very slow (i.e not just this download). I'm really interested in how long on average this (or a similar) download generally takes and recommendations for how to get this download to under 5 hours. My ISP logs me out every 5 hours and for some reason, my computer is not remembering any earlier downloadings so it's back to scratch every time at the moment. I would appreciate any help anyone could provide. Thanks.

I need to know it in order to apply for a Master's program in Library Science. I know how to do MS Word (been doing it for years). I did a beginner's course on MS Excel but forgot most of it.

And on that same note.....how long would it take to master MS PowerPoint? I've used it before but it's been a long time since I last used it (I have WinXP home edition and I don't have any of the cool MS programs). Is it possible to purchase these programs separately on Amazon.com and will they be compatible with my WinXP home edition thingy?

I'll be browsing with IE7, and after clicking a link, even within a reputable website, multiple tabs will start opening up, one after another, rapid-fire (IE6 did the same thing, opening new windows, rather than tabs). It won't stop until I use Task Manager (ctrl+alt+del) to end task. Sometimes hundreds of them will open. I keep my anti-virus, anti-spyware, firewall and Windows up to date and run scans regularly, but it continues to happen. I've searched the web, including Microsoft, for answers, but have found no help. Has anyone else experienced this? Why is it happening? What can I do about it?
