ok, old computer, gateway 2000, had windows 95, want to fix for nephew to use for playing solitare and word for homework, nothing else. when turning on, get message that IFSHP.SYS is not there, system halted, help, what can I do, if fixable

I am a licenced reseller of both Hardware and Software. I have stayed away from OEM because i never really understood the requirements of selling it.

Do you have to sell it with hardware? or can it be sold to a customer whos computer you have worked on?

I installed the Google player after I followed a link to a YouTube video I wanted to see. It starts and plays for 3 or 4 seconds, then freezes. I stop it, start it again; it plays 6 or 8 seconds, then freezes. I stop it, start it again; it plays 10 or 12... See the pattern? Is there any way to fix it? I already uninstalled & reinstalled once.

Windows Media Player is worse. It takes forever to do anything, then alternates between loading and buffering till I get fed up and quit.

Im lookin for a downloadable program that is FREE, SIMPLE, nothing fancy so i can crop out lets say pic of me and put on some other picture. Like microsofts it will leave the square white, and i dont want that, i just want somn plain simple and free of download, I dont want Photshop or somn too much, lesser of a value than that. I know enough about computers to get me out of trouble if i need it (if something messes up) but with the actual names and brands i really dont know how to compare them. So i am aksing if you could give me the pros and cons to AMD and Intel (if those are even in the same ball park, if they arent i need the comparison to a pentium 4 and AMD) Thanks.

I can't burn DVDs on my computer when I have both Roxio and Nero. I can burn only data DVDs and I want to be able to play them on my DVD player and can't. I've converted the .avi files to just about every format and still have no success. With Nero it will start but about halfway through transcoding it'll stop and have an error. But no resolutions to the error can be found. Can anyone help?

I just bought a new Acer Desktop and I wanted it with XP but was told that all new PCs now have Vista. I've only got 512 RAM and think that XP is probably better suited to my needs.

I have Windows ME and the XP Pro upgrade disks, so as far as I can tell, I think I need to reinstall ME then upgrade to XP (unless I can use my XP Pro Laptop recovery disk... is that allowed?).

Anyway, my question is about partitions and FDISK. I have no idea what this means. I researched uninstalling Vista on the net, but they talk about partitions and I don't know how to clear it or where I can learn more about it.

Does anyone have any step-by-step, really clearly explained websites that go through this? Do you know how I can do this?

Can someone please tell me how to burn my limewire audio mp3's to disk. I uses to use "record now" but It is out of date. Can I use anything else such as "wizard" or something, and if so, how would I do that? I'm so grateful for anyone who can help! I need this for work tomorrow. Bless you!

I have Windows Media Player 11. Since I downloaded it, I can no longer watch embedded video clips on my favourite websites like sky sports and wwe.com. I can hear the sound but the video stays black.

When I had WMP10, it worked fine, and when I am elsewhere on another computer I can watch these clips fine. What am I missing? Do I need a codec or something.

Any help would be much appreciated from people that had a similar problem.
