Yes, just create 2 partitions on the hard drive. You can use a program like Norton Partition Magic. Install vista on one partition, and ubuntu on the other. When the computer starts, pick which one you want to use.

Try it first, it's a Live CD.
If you like it AND it finds all your hardware, install as Dual boot with Vista. Read the FAQ's on the ubuntu site for more info.

Sure can.
And as I understand, the Ubuntu install process can handle this along with resizing partitions.
Don't quote me on that though, I haven't got around to doing a Ubuntu install yet to test it so I'm not positive.

would suggest installing it on seperate hard drives. Linux likes to fight windows for the drive. you will also need to use an open source boot loader like grub.

yes.
snd if you want to run 2 different Windows os's you have to install the older one first and they have to be on seperate partitions. and microsoft recomends againt it.
