im 16 just trying to record some of my songs and a few bands so i was wondering what would be the easiest and cheapest. ive looked at cakewalk and a lot of other but these 2 seem to be the best choices what do you recommend

I just ordered a free Ubuntu Linux CD as I'd like to try it out, I see loads of people raving about Linux, not sure what's so good about it though? Can someone please tell me ? Compare it with Windows & OS X too please.

I have a user who cant open her .xls file which is stored on a flash drive (Lexar FAT32 256MB). The message that comes back says

'file.xls' cannot be accessed. The file may be read-only, or you may be trying a access a read-only location. Or, the server the document is stored on my bot be responding.

Extra Info:
User running XP Pro SP2
Office 2003

**Things I have already done.

Opened up other files, everything works good.

The user works on two other computers, so I had her open them on those computers just in case read-only was set on those.

Made sure windows could see the drive as being healty (good)

Checked the file properties for read-only (not set).

I found a program the other day at school where you can save individual files which would be your frames for the gif as .gif and you can drag them into this program and click animate to make an animated gif, anyone know what it was? or of an program that's free that is jsut as easy to use but dosn't watermark my gif?

I have a problem with my Vista. My laptop is froze in the 'logging off' screen and will not shut down. I could not press the on/off button because it just puts it to sleep and when it comes back on its back to the 'logging off' screen. I just wait until the battery dies but then again after i plugged to power cord, its back to BS logging off screen.

Does anybody know how to restart the system? Any keyboard shortcut to shutdown??

I have a spreadsheet in which I need to count how many reports have been sent, currently i put the date in and manually input the total number of reports sent, but is there a formula I can put in so once a date is input into a cell it automatically 'counts' the number of cells with dates in them?

when i try to remove aol to my add/remove programs at control panel i cant see the small tab which i can remove programs also in other programs in add/remove programs. what should i do to remove aol and get back the original settings of add/remove programs which i can see the tab button of remove programs....
