What is better pro tools (mbox 2) or lexicon omega for a home studio?

im 16 just trying to record some of my songs and a few bands so i was wondering what would be the easiest and cheapest. ive looked at cakewalk and a lot of other but these 2 seem to be the best choices what do you recommend

I'd say go for whatever is cheaper. They should have similar specs and if you want better quality than these units you'd be spending a lot more anyway. I'd say go the Pro Tools route, it's fairly industry standard, comes with a lite version of ProTools software, and if you decide to upgrade later to better, higher end hardware, you could still use the Mbox with the newer system and you wouldn't have to learn new software.
