I was not told Win98SE would be out dated when I paid for my computer. Will Microsoft give me an update to Win Vista for free?

I doubt that. They are not even giving those free updates to people who bought the recent Win XP software so they sure won't help someone in an older package. They are not known for that kind of generosity or interest in customer loyalty.

How long ago did you get that computer? In the speedy world of software getting old quickly win98SE was so many years ago that Microsoft considers it an antique that hasn't even been sold for years.
