I have heard that a site provides MS Word (old) which can be used only after copying in a CD. Can I use it?

It is said that I can get free MS Word (old) through a site with activation key. The file will be downloaded to my Share folder and then I have to copy this file in a CD to use it in my system. Is it like buying a software from a shop and loading it in the computer?
