I do not have the money to buy the originals, so I will forever remain computer illiterate if I have to buy. Should I not use the illegal copies then?

How do I fix the problem of copying movie(.vob,.mpeg) file from a DVD to a hard disk? The problem is that although the movies run well from the DVD, the moment i try copying them from the DVD to the hard disk the following message appears on the screen:-"ERROR: Cannot copy files: DATA ERROR:(CYCLIC REDUNDANCY CHECK)"! What should I do ? please help me out since i want to copy many dvds to hard disk!

I have just bought a new computer and wanted to install a DVD drive from my old machine. However, when i opened up my new computer, i realised that there is no IDE cable or port - the current drive runs on a SATA cable.
I dont really know much about it at all, but i was wondering if i can get a SATA cable and some kind of adapter so that i can connect my old IDE DVD drive? If not, what else can i do? Surely there must be a way!
I've looked in the computer and cant see a connection for a IDE cable. There is a connection that looks like IDE, but its just a bit too small to fit the cable into it.

i downloaded a movie,,, and the subtitle 4 it... but when i play the movie,,, the subtitle dont appear in the right order... either before the speaker.. or after his sentense... wht software to solve this problem?

I had to do a system restore three times after .NET framework 2.0 failed. I have a brand new pc, barely 30 days old, WIN XP w/ service pk. 2, I turned off my firewall before I started, no other programs were running at the time. I don't get it. Does any one know what else I could try?? I already paid for the program I downloaded and I can't even install it!

I am now using subtitle workshop to make out the subtitle file for a avi video.
Finally I get a .sub/.srt subtitle file.

Now I meet the problem of how do I combine the subtitle file into video file so that I can watch that avi video together with the subtitle I made.

I had heard of method like name the subtitle file with the same file name as my avi video file.And the video would go automatically play with the subtitle file.
But it doesn't work for me ??
Did I miss any steps for it to work ?

Or do I need to download another programme to combine this 2 things together ...
Additional info is that I know there is 2 types of subtitle, one is external and the other one is internal (which is permanently place inside video, cannot change the words)
The one I hope to do is the internal ones ...

I've tried every speed with many different types of cd's(from low end to high dollar) getting costly for something I can't play in my car. I've tried media player 11, roxio came with this Dell , but not on the computer anymore. Any idea which disk it's on ,disks don't say specificly. Tech support is no help at all. Some dvd's burn just fine (some don't) , the one's that don't lock up the dvd player on the middle menu's to where you have to turn it off to do anything. The begining and end menu's play good. Same thing I've tried at least 5 different types of blank dvd's. I've tried Nero 7, My DVD. I NEED HELP , PLEASE.

Whenever I play a game or am doing something on my comp if it does not have the correct cd in for the program it goes into power saving mode and for some of these programs I do not have cd's such digital downloads. Can someone help me with this?

I'm currently using Reason 3.0 and Acid 6.0 - neither of these can do anything as far as recording vocals or instruments. I'm considering getting Ableton live 6 or Sound Forge, but I'm not sure which one is best for recording vocals and guitars professionally (and without buying new hardware).
