everytime i space i see a dot, how do i take it off? (its not the paragraph button, i tried that already...)

If the dots are not going away when you click on the Show/Hide button, click on the Tools menu and choose Options. Click on the View tab and see if there is a tick mark in front of 'Spaces' under Formatting marks, if there is, remove it by clicking on it.

yes, it is the paragraph button...
look at your toolbar and look for a P with lines threw it, this is your paragraph button. Make sure it is toggled off, then the 'space placeholder' will not be visable anymore...
and if you are correct and it is turned off, then you need to check what font you are using, for a cutom font can have any mark for the space character.
